Before you sleep or log off for the evening – you should build an army camp until camps are full and then back log your resources.
I usually build an army of wall breakers in my Elixir barracks and golems / hogs in my Dark Barracks to reduce the amount available for enemies to steal when raiding.

The only thing is remember to subtract them all in the morning before you start donating – I have often ended up with many unwanted wall breakers - Hahaha

Hopefully that helps to reduce your DE being stolen at 2K

nah i have 80k DE all the time because im max th8 going to th9..
even if i had 40k DE they would still take the same amount..

even though it is a very nice idea. 6 golems being trained at 5k total doesn't make much of a dent in 100k+ DE in your storage

Well everything helps –
I do it nightly and it has saved me something – maybe being a TH8 makes a difference.
Either way it helps me sleep better at night regarding clash
