Question Can I please have some advice?

Hi guys i am new to clash of clans and have only been playing for about 3 weeks, I am already a Town Hall level 5 upgrading to a level 6. I have also maxed out all my defenses to what i can right now. I often lose my raids right now and was wondering what are the best combinations for attacking other players. I have recently changed my approach and am using 1 lightning spell 35 goblins and 15 giants. since doing this i have started getting two stars again.

all of my troops are level 2 and my barbs are level 3. i have 110 spaces for troops. so can someone please help me use them effectively. Thanks

You don't need to win, just keep finding loot and upgrading your village. In fact, if you win too much you'll find the loot dries up. For TH6 (and TH7), I'd recommend you stay below 1100 trophies, in fact well below that level is good for TH5 and TH6.

Barch = Combo of Barbarians and Achers, that'll be your go to.

I like using some giants to send into battle first to tank, but don't over-do it on the giants, they don't do a lick of damage.

Eventually BAM is a good combo for you too. BAM = Barb, Archer minion. You can spinkle giants in here too.

Remember the goal isn't stars is getting loot. One star is fine but I sacrifice them for loot. Barbarian/archer is popular but it will get boring eventually. I suggest you try different combos but don't mix air and ground attacks.

No Advice - Just a complaint about how he posted in the wrong place. You guys kill me with that.

To the guy asking for advice use 6 Giants split evenly barbs & archers you should do well in looting & being able to control your trophy range for looting.

    Lots of good advice here.

I remember the good ol' days of farming at TH4 and TH5. I loved goblins. They were my go-to troop for farming. I couldn't for the life of me get used to using barbarians.

Barbarians are for destroying buildings. This serves numerous purposes:
    * If you're trying to get 50% destruction for a star, so that you move up a few trophies instead of losing a lot of trophies, then barbarians are great for that.
    * If you're trying to get buildings out of the way, so that your archers can shoot defenses behind a wall, then barbarians are great for that.
    * If you need a strong unit with good health to act as a meat shield for your archers, then barbarians are great for that.

However, barbarians aren't great at everything. If you are attacking resources, especially collectors that are behind a layer of other buildings (army camps, barracks, etc.), then goblins are more effective.

If you bust a hole in a one or two walls, exposing a storage deep inside a base, but you don't have enough firepower to destroy 5-10 buildings between you and the storage, then barbarians might not even get there. The goblins will. As long as those distracting buildings aren't mines or collectors, the goblins will happily charge in and get the loot. And yes, they'll probably be pounded by mortars and wizard towers. It still takes some skill.

But goblins can do things that barbarians can't.

So if you like goblins, and if you already have a lot of practice with them, then keep using them. But I would suggest archers and giants to take out defenses (or at least be a tank).

My go-to army from TH4 through all of TH5 was 4-8 giants (depending on my needs), a similar number of WB's, and then a mix of archers and goblins. When I switched to barch, my raids got noticeably poorer, at least for a few weeks until I got the hang of using barbarians. It's a very different mindset when you barch, compared to goblin-archer.

You have to treat the Barbs like baby Giants. Absorb hits while the Archers get the loot. Barch is good when you doing collector raids or when the loot is behind first level of walls.
