Upgrading to TH9, Need some advice on what to do first

Hello all,

I've completely maxxed my th8 base with the exception of about 60 purples left, and I will finish those soon. I even got my valks upgrading now to level 2.

With that said, I have 5 builders, and if all goes as planned I will have close to maxxed storages with a maxxed CC from war.

I farm with giants and wizzards.


In terms of elixir, what should I do first? I was thinking I would get my spell factory, and as much camps as I could asap.

In terms of gold, what should I do? For this I was going to try and get my AD up first for my war base, then followed with the Xbows. I'm under the impression that people usually go for the xbows asap cuz they're fancy and new, but unless someone can prove to me that the glorified AT is worth getting first then I won't.

Xbows and CC are a good shout for the gold upgrades to start with, followed by splash damage units.

Upgrade your Lab and Spell factory immediately after finishing your new TH9 and if you have the right amount of DE needed, get the AQ (thats an obvious thing lol)

Air defs can be done later.
while waiting for xbows, start working on Mortars.

Remember this upgrade order priority for defenses:

1)xbows

2) Splash defenses

3) ADs

3) point defenses

Check out this guide. I used it when I upgraded to th9 and followed it fairly closely and it turned out GREAT! Defensively get the new stuff and splash damage up ASAP and with elixir lab and spell factory then camps. Best advice is to fill up your storages 100% before upgrade if possible. Dont worry about xbows, they can be done later. Get your cc up if youre in an active clan, spell factory, queen, and new defenses. Xbows are really overrated, and overweighted in war matchups for the little benefit they provide.

My upgrade order when I went up.

1) xbow
2) xbow
3) SF( brew 3 spells prior to upgrade)
4) Lab
5) new walls (can't remember what level though), new defenses , storages, then raided with the AQ for a bit. Before logging off put her down for lvl2 upgrade.
