I used to just attack in gold 1 and got enough DE by attacking any base with over 1k - using mainly barch.

You see lots of DE in crystal- but you may find its in TH10's and protected by high level infernos. In C3 you may still find lots of premmie TH9 & TH 10 bases and can use a low cost army to obtain it.
