I love it. Doing all Barbarians raids in every 2-3 min. And my trophys dropt from 2600 cups down to 2000. And I don't care, I'm on role here, got 5m mill in gold on 3 hours with just barbarians and no spells or heros. I'm geting so hooked on this game now.

I must say I find this update a little confusing.

They recently took away being able to use Elixir on wall upgrades and cited the lack of Elixir available as the reason.

People moaned that they then had nothing to spend Elixir on at some TH levels. I agree with that, I've found I've seen bursting at the seems with the stuff as I entered into TH8 and as I continue to upgrade in it.

The counter argument provided by those who welcomed the removal of Elixir on walls said either that at their TH and league levels that Elixir was very hard to come by or the other excuse was 'just make more expensive armies'.

The trouble with that is the time taken to train the expensive troops, it doesn't really make it a viable option. But now we can train Dragons really quickly.

But that means we're leeching through our Elixir at an alarming rate. Which ultimately means there's less Elixir in the game.

    It just makes no sense.

Let me explain that a bit further. They took elixir for walls away for only TH7s and TH8s. And the way they did it was stupid: they need to fix the system so that there is a minimum threshold that must be held before elixir can be spent on walls. If that was in place, literally every lvl of wall in the game could be done with either gold or elixir and have zero effect on the economy.

So they only took it away for 2 TH levels, 7 and 8. All these TH9s who were just handed a "golden TH" to do almost all base progression at due to this revert were telling TH8s to deal with it, to cook up more expensive troops and hit larger hauls if they didn't want the elixir. And you are right, it takes too long to make them, so even without being able to hit those top gold storage bases, TH8s would be better off farming with fast-cooking tier 1 troops and just hit collectors for 150k/150k or more a pop. Even conservatively, that comes to over 600k/600k an hour. One heavy army an hour finding that 600k gold base is borderline impossible, to find a hittalbe 400k gold base would even be a rarity.

Well now dragons are faster to cook, and not one single TH9 has the right to complain about any problems resulting from this. They would smugly tell the TH8s to do exactly what they're doing now, and the reason they told them that is b/c they knew all too well that it wasn't viable from a time standpoint. Now it is, and now TH8s can drain their elixir by making strong troops to hit TH9 storages. Fair is fair.

Stop crying and play the game. TH9's have a longer progression than TH8's thus leading to even less elixir needed in the end road. TH8's honestly shouldn't be wasting that much elixir. If you are it's because you are just staying as a th8 way too long. It's pointless to stay TH8 simply to finish all skulls that don't even help, if your troops and defenses are done move on. They did the event for fun, there is no behind the scenes conspiracy going on that they want you little TH8's dumping all your elixir for drag raids. Ultimately the choices always up to the individual.

There doesn't need to be a threshold, the lowest level wall to dump elixir on costs 1 mil and it won't last forever. After that it's 3mil and 6mil i'd say that's plenty. Not everyone is at the point to where they can dump all their elixir anyways, it's only people that would have been wasting their elixir one way or another anyways.
