Fair enough, although still possible to do without but at 180k bonus the cost of a spell or two is probably justified.
Yes I agree if using a spell will return me roughly double its cost or more then yes it is no longer a waste. Still I seem to very rarely use them myself, but as long as you are not relying on them to farm and are making wise decisions regarding cost/benefit then spells are ok when used spareingly.

Just saying, if they had introduced, say, a 1-gem spell boost people would be complaining about all the zappers. With things like this, they really can't please everyone.
8 dragons, 40 barbs. You can raid every 15 min up in mid to low crystal league hitting fat DE storages. Now if there was only a way to get those 45 min rage spells reduced down to a similar time...
How is this not obvious to you that it's a way for Supercell to try to boost gem revenue?
Go raid w/o a rage spell for 2/3 raids then. Maybe it'll still work out for you, maybe it'll be a 250k elixir investment that failed to get 2k+ oil, in addition to any nearby storages.
Or shill out the 10 gems and bump your DE up by 10k+ in a matter of 2 hours. It's not like you're going to be able to continue doing those raids throughout the entire event, it's incredibly elixir-negative.
