Perhaps that comes as a shock to some, but in CoC, time is the only thing you can buy with money (besides the pirate flag and mighty statue). There is nothing you can't gain by spending a lot of time on the game than those who spend some real coin in the game. I don't think there will come the time when the 0 spenders will catch up with the big spenders as with every update, there comes more stuff. I think it's a good thing...
Biggest time savings with the gems, I think, are: speeding up your troop building and finishing buildings faster. These two things alone make months of difference in how long everything takes time in game between gemmers and non-gemmers. Heroes would take even longer to get higher up, in fact longer than the game had the heroes included so without gems, there is no way to have high level heroes just yet.
The reason of this post is to point out all the benefits the people who did spend real money on this game have/had. I see so many threads of complaints about supercell not delivering their money's worth but there I disagree. Everyone gets excatly same amount their money's worth: time saved. Nothing more, nothing less. It's not stocks of SC to get influennce on their decision making but just time saved.
So is it unfair, that people who did opt to not spend money but lots of time hunting for the good loot, preying the weak, can be almost as good and in some cases, even better in the game than those who did gem their way? I think it is not unfair, everyone are getting returns to what they invested in the game. Gemmers save the time, farmers trade their time for loot... And the majority of the players (no proof, just a gut feeling on this) spend little of both, time and money, and just enjoy the game and then quit when they had enough.
Like I have already seen threads like this, we understand the non-gemmers complain at the gemmers. We understand that they are wrong. We understand that the gemmers are the people that are at the top of the leaderboards. We understand that there is no way to become the top player if you don't gem. Too many complaints about gemmers etc. Just play the game and enjoy it.
I am not accusing anyone of anything nor am I complaining about anything. I am trying to clarify my point of view on the matter. The point being, money gets you time (or some decor), nothing else. Some might disagree with my point of view or not approve how things are and that is their right
