At the end of TH8 with all my defenses maxed. Wondering is it worth it to sit behind and farm up roughly 100k - 150k DE to finish my DE upgrades. Currently I'm sitting at Level 3 Minions/Hogs, and need to do Golem, Valk, and the last level on minion/hog. I barch farm, and never really use DE troops other than war purposes which is rare; I do Dragon raids 99% of the time. Is it better to push TH9 rather than sitting behind for months for troops I never use?
If you don't use those troops, no point in staying at TH8

Go to 9!! No need to wait. At this point there won't be anything for you to spend your elixir on if you farm away for the rest of your research and walls. At the beginning of 9 you will have plenty of upgrades to keep your builders busy and spend your elixir on. Getting DE will be much easier as well.

Better start learning how to gowipe.. drags are not a 3 star strategy as a th9 u less your attacking th8s. upgrade your TH and while it's upgrading upgrade your golems.
as long as pekka is 3 or on her way to 3, go to TH9.
Drags are meh at TH9. Trust me, with 4 level 7 air defenses and an opposing archer queen, they'll get shot down, leaving you with one star.
I maxed TH8 completely, including walls and troops, so I now have nothing to worry about now. I can get witches (once I get a few elixir troops upgraded that is) whenever I want.

I figured drg raid wouldn't be the prime strat for war at th9 because of the added air defense, so I planned for that. The other thing Is when I'm farming defenses I solo and don't do wars, and just farm gold and DE. I have level 3 pekka, and only have a handful of elixir troops left(Heal, goblin, wb, and loon), which gives me plenty of time to finish walls. I'm gonna skip it, because I assume it's much easier to get DE at th9 than th8. Anyway thanx for the advice.
Not doing DE troops isn't going to hold you back at TH9 unless you plan to use them - most of the time that will probably be wars. If this case it really depends on what your clan rules are. Certainly you need to do wall breakers and heal before you arrive at TH9.

Erm, honestly I'd do at the de troops at least to level 2. Yes de flows fine at th9 but heroes get expensive fast and you will need de for them.
You may not use de troops right now but the time will come when you want to and then you'll find they are all useless and will take months to get in shape.
Do a little bit now and then have a smoother ride later on.
Anyways , that's my two cents.Clash on!
