All true guys/girls. Every good thing must eventually come to an end...unfortunately. In my opinion though, I'm just a little surprised that for their #1 money maker game (of which they only really have 2...as boom is still a baby and spooky is in beta), they aren't investing loads more time, and energy into keeping it fresh and exciting. After all, it's in their best interest to keep it #1 in Apple/Android stores, because sooner or later something else will be coming out and taking over.

Although we do love our CoC, we are also tempted by the newest and exciting games/things out there....and this is what I'm getting at. I'm just surprised that I feel Supercell isn't trying very hard to do stay atop. Yes they have a great game, and for new players and early town halls theres plenty of cool stuff to work for, but I just wonder for how long the downward trend of lack of improvements in the game will last.

Because after all, CoC has been the longest #1 grossing game in the Apple store of all time, and for years it will continue to make millions for Supercell. Guess I'm just a little surprised that what got them to that point, was a great game concept but with constant (almost monthly) tweaks/improvements/upgrades/changes etc etc. And I'm noticing a decline in that...which raises my suspicion of, if you take that aspect away from the game....does it lose it's mass appeal, and what got them to this position in the first place.

I remember when I thought the game had peaked, and was becoming inactive, then the update of my dreams, clan wars came out. I have been much more active since. I was also becoming inactive then the hound came out. There will certainly be an update that makes you feel the same way OP

I think they have approx 35 million active users, with the number of the world population who could pick up this game, I can't see it being hard for them to maintain that. I would guess most quit at th8 or mid th9 which takes a while to achieve, and with fairly consistent updates, dormant players can always return.

Cold analysis to the side, for long term existing players it will be the promise of new troops and new town halls that will be their only true interest now which could be very exciting, but will they drag each new troop into yearly doses? I hope not.

I think the game has an 18 month lifespan for any new player depending on how much they batter the game. I've played it quite intensively and I think it is safe to say all the romance and excitement of it feeling new and progressing back in the days of th7/8 and earlier is gone and won't be coming back for me. I don't foresee any new development to the game that will spice things up really. At this point it is probably the sheer number of hours I have put into the game that keep me playing, keeping my account going. If I started the game with the current dynamic I would have just uninstalled it by now.

Supercell have a hugely popular, successful game but being a simple game as it is played on a mobile phone or tablet, it can only go on so long. Even call of duty gets re-done every 12 months and you can't really compare the experience. ...plus that got dull a few releases ago!

All good things must come to an end and I would more than welcome a renewal of marriage vows with supercell, but our marriage is old and stale! ...I'm looking for a hotter, younger model that I can have fun with again.

Clashes goal will be on features more than content coming in the next year or two. No need to rush.

Quests if done well will add a lot more gameplay. There is always the eventual TH11 in a few years to be placed.

After Quests and TH11, then you can suggest its peaked and done its part.

The reality is that it just generates so much cash. SC has an incentive to keep tweaking and improving the overall game play and addition factor. Been the number 1 grossing app in Australia for almost a year now, and I'm sure its similar around the world.

I agree. Clash becomes a grind at TH9 / TH10, causing a lot of high level players to lose interest. Like the OP and I.

I don't have a clue how to fix the problem. Quests would certainly help, but I suspect that Clash just isn't made for TH9 & TH10 (they were not part of the original game).

I think this is the problem of your clan. We have a clan in which we communicate through IM outside game, so we feel much close to each other, and we actually know who the other persons are. There are clans that have offline gatherings, maybe you should try those clans.

To make things worse, I even dropped out of my clan because I simply wanted to use my time to do other things in life other than talking to people whom I most likely will never meet.

I like this game but it just does not provide the spark like it used to be...

But there are other games that just dont age like Team Fortress 2. That game has been out since 2007 and still going pretty strong even to this day. Its going to be 8 years. I dont think clash will ever last that long. Supercell must come up with ideas to keep the general player amused and something to do in clash. Multiplayer based games are a beauty as in they will never die as long as players and the developer keep at it. Thats whats going on with tf2. What supercell did is brought clash to a abrupt stop.
