    Has Clash of Clans peaked?

I have been wondering of late if the game has plateaued?

I've been playing for 1.5 yrs now and have made a healthy lvl 10 base. I haven't been around since the start but early enough I feel to make this statement.

I've loved playing the game and like thousands of others, it has been a part of my daily life for a long while now. But I've noticed that the level of excitement, frequency and cool stuff has gone way down of late. I don't have specifics, but am I the only one who feels that the game has hit a lull and sits in a status quo right now....and I'm not expecting that to change.

I understand Supercell can't be constantly releasing new content, but does that not imply as well that this game/any game for that matter starts to become mundane after a while....well for me it has. It's probably just a natural progression for CoC, but it's just sad cause I looked forward every month to new stuff and now that barely happen. Unfortunately for those of us who have been playing for a while now, I feel that CoC has begun to run its course.

I hear you, OP. I have been thinking about the same thing lately. I used to check my base non-stop but now I don't even care if I got raided. I just log on every couple hours when my army and spells are done, do a raid and then log off.

To make things worse, I even dropped out of my clan because I simply wanted to use my time to do other things in life other than talking to people whom I most likely will never meet.

I like this game but it just does not provide the spark like it used to be...

It has lost it's excitement for you, OP, and that's understandable.
You've been playing for a long time and there is nothing on the horizon.

But maybe there is? Quests, th11, etc that may bring you back in.

Or maybe not, so be it.

But this is only speaking from your personal experience with the game.

I'm a new townhall9, there is a lot on the horizon for me. A lot more I want to accomplish before I bid this great game adieu.

    Th10, champs, max heroes, etc.

For you, perhaps this time has come, and that's unfortunate.
Perhaps SEE will suck you back in with a big update.

Regardless of the outcome, good luck.

As far as quality if gaming experience I think it's obvious that the game was at its prime over a year ago now. I think poor choices from supersell and terrible updates have really affected the game for the worse but it seems to be making as much money as it ever did so I can't see it going anywhere.

They are in tweak mode. It's not about new content its more about fixing and balancing everything they have now first and frankly they are struggling with that. The bugs get worse and worse and their response times get slower. It took them what a year and a half to get hogs right? 2 years? Wagers on how long it takes them to fix the Lava Hound? Xbows have been broken for a month, maybe longer. Inferno continues to be OP. Clan wars matchmaking is still garbage (been close to a year).

So has it peaked? Difficult to answer because even though they may have peaked idea wise, we wouldn't know or see the effects of this for a while as it would need to trickle down to all the millions of users not th9 or 10 who make up the majority of players. So while they very well may be scrambling for fresh ideas....they have bought themselves quite a bit of time to come up with something. For example, in the time it took them to fix hogs....they have added millions of players most of which probably have yet to train a hog, therefore never will know there even was an issue with them in the first place.

The real question is what are they going to do about all the problems facing them right now in the next 2 or so years. Thats really what is going to decide their fate. They can't afford to continue to face problems like the xbow the way they are (going on 2 months broken) if 90% of the COC population is attacking bases with xbows.

    Hope that helps.

I definitly hear what you're saying OP. I'm not there yet, but I've been there with other games. Just remember there's lots and lots and lots of people that play this game and will play this game in the future. Just because its peaked for you or I doesn't mean it has for others. There will definitly come a time when I've done all I can with this game and I walk away. But most likely on that day, tons of other people that have never played before will start for the first time. I think the player base will just keep coming in and out considering how much recognition this game gets.

Like all things in life, it has to come to an end.

But this type of game is not something you'll quit for life, you'll probably take a break & revisit this game once in a while or after a few months & feel the excitement once again.

But then again, you'll probably quit for real if something innovative and a lot better version of this game comes along, like it usually happens in a competitive world of game industry.

Has the game peaked for you? Yes. Has it for me? Definitely. Has it peaked overall? I have no idea, and neither do you.

No, there will never be a peak. We will never know when the most people are online playing. But the game peaks for everyone, and for the past year, I've been in that peak :P

For players who have been around a long time, yeah; it does feel like that as we are close to maxed out.

However, the game is still attracting countless new players by the day - and has strong advertising campaigns going worldwide.

While for seasoned players it probably feels like the peak, the game itself is far from it's peak.

The landslide of noobs who flood facebook with rubbish like 'give TH7/TH8 elixir walls back' just shows there are still loads of new players coming through. While the game can still attract heaps of new players it is no where near peak.
