Well...they are kinda running out of ideas and room to add contents.

Check my GFX shop too...Also check my detailed idea :
Running out of ideas is ♥♥, plenty that could be added.
Taking time to code is ♥♥, they have enough money to hire all the programmers they need to get things done at what ever pace they choose.
The timing of the updates is about choice, for whatever reason they choose to update at certain times and not sooner or later.
My thoughts for the slow update reasons:
Too many updates means people get demoralized since they can't keep up and newer players can't catch up.
Players that gem updates immediately won't keep doing that if updates come too fast, they will just quit or stop gemming. But for infrequent updates they will gem them right away.
Limiting the content makes for a very stable game, which makes top players want to keep playing. Games that change quickly decrease the advantage long term players have in skill and experience.
Risk of mistakes rises with every update. Some updates simply don't work well, so the more updates there are the bigger risk that one will be a flub, and a big enough flub can kill the game.
Level 226
This is delicious.
Well honestly, I think the main focus for SC should be to bring stable game updates instead of frequent ones. The amount of people who whine and complain after every update is exponentially growing. And I don't think that growth has anything to do with the update![]()
Makes sense that they are having fewer updates, but Supercell did say that updates would go back to their normal frequency after the summer (from Steve, sorry I don't have a link). We've had 1 update in the past 3 months, and the one before that was an admittedly minor one. Perhaps they will in fact release th 11 and then go on a blitz, but their words haven't lined up with their actions so far.
The game is more complex and bigger now, any small change can potentially have a huge impact on the game. Things have to be considered very carefully and adequately tested to ensure balance is met.
Not only that, the more coding there is; the more room for error there is. Taking even more testing. I'm sure on their testing side so many times they try add something new something breaks; which needs to be fixed.
They make sure the product is clean [or at clean as possible] before going live.
SuperCell never have a whole lot of bugs with new updates. There are other games out there who release updates with far more bugs along the way. Nothing is more frustrating then an update full of bugs.
It's because th11 is coming
Another reason for this particular update, is they added lv 12 mines/collectors in the last update.
I wouldn't blame them one bit for sitting back and monitoring the impact of that to the economy before even considering more economic changes.
There are still many players working through their lv 12 upgrades at the moment.
Let's see... It's Wednesday, January 28th, 2015 where I'm sitting. In a few days it'll be February... followed by March, then April, May, June, then July, August, September, October, YUUUP!!! 2015 is almost over already and we haven't had an update since Christmas yet.... What the HECK guys???
Sheesh
Clearly they have no new ideas for Clash and are just shifting all focus into Spooky Pop, or whatever their new game is..
I can see all that is Clash coming to an end here shortly fellas.... let's all just pack it up and go home. It was great while it lasted.
End of Troll rant.
P.s. - I just had to.
