The fire maelstrom spell is something like the ice spell but also like the lightning spell. When it hits the buildings or troops it does 115 initial damage to the buildings and enemy troops but also does carrying damage to the buildings and troops somewhere between 15 and 20 damage in 3 seconds. As it goes to level 5(max level) it goes up to 345 initial damage and 40 to 55 damage for 3 seconds. It is like a meteor storm in appearance.
