Clan Wars - Leaderships Ability to select who participates with Clan War

This would be helpful so clan-mates do not have to lose there current donations because they are not able to participate instead of having to leave or be kicked before Start of War Search.

This idea is most definitely NOT ruled out.

I personally don't like leader controlled opting and prefer individualized opting, but the most agreed solution is a double tiered opt system (which rwelshjr might come here to post about in better details). Basically each person opts in or out through settings or the clan info page but leader can override.

Edit: leader controlled opting can lead to abuse and drama which SC wants little of. It also puts too much responsibility on the leader. Member based might be exploitable. That's why a two tiered is best. I don't have the good details... Look around the forums for other threads like yours and one of them might have rwelshjr's explanation of a two-tiered opt system.

This falls under opting in any case so tradition mandates...

Reasons
The main reason is, as stated above, because people don't want to kick people and invite them just so they can opt outon war. While that is a solution, it has some consequences, including misunderstandings, drama (omg, you kicked me out so that I wouldn't be in war) and loss of donation statistics.

Some might argue that if one does not wish to participate in war, one must simply join a clan that does not participate in war. The reason this is not true for many people is that those who care about being able to opt out are more likely to be loyal members, or at least friends with many. Leaving as a group is not a solution either since the group of friends would still be split between warring and not warring. Splitting the group results in the splitting of friends, which lowers the amount of motivations to keep playing CoC. If sister/feeder clans been implemented, that would be a long workwaround that could still be flawed.

There is another reason that this is suggested, which is that players will still "have a life" outside of CoC. This includes vacations, examinations, business trips, blackouts (+and other force majuere disasters) in the residence of one player which doesn't affect the others physically etc.. Thus, some players would only opt out some times and return to war actively.

We've talked A LOT about adding an opt-out feature in Clan Wars and it's not currently in the cards. At this point, we just haven't found the right solution that fits Clash how it should.

We always try to avoid unnecessary complexity in our feature design and strive for features that work consistently and simply for all players. From my experience in CoC (not just me, but also my clanmates), I'm going to added to the list [of stuff that people have given to say why the don't want it but need it] at the end of the post.

"They spoke of fractured clans, lost members", lost friends, stress that may have led to GPA loss (hence less chance for college and all that nonsense), lots of drama, rebellions within clans, inter-clan drama/rivalry and family problems of all sorts including, but not limited to, parent/child and siblings.

when I say ruled out I mean it is either in the category of being considered or it has been dismissed, what we really should be doing is not starting threads that are clogging up the forum, for items that supercell are already considering or have dismissed!

Nope.

Rueld out means its int he official ruled out list made by supercell. Ideas that are already considered should be given the title "already considered" not ruled out.

As someone who has posted 60 times on this forum, you know not to post useless threads such as this one, but OP does not. There is no reason to assume he has been silently watching everyone talk about it and then decides to post this useless thread. The rules only state that he must read the stickies and make a search (which usually doesn't give results that match with what the poster is intending to say unless it is an extremely common idea if they arent doing it with advanced search)

This idea is in neither of the states of existence you mentioned. This is neither ruled out or considered. It is in limbo although it is the second most wanted feature according to a poll (non-biased) in general after Quests.

To me ruled out means it is not an option. Sorry I do not have all day to sift through the hundreds of threads and find the particular one for my idea. If you have the ability to link what I have said to the correct thread and delete this thread to unclog the forums space then by all means. It would be greatly appreciated.
