I would agree with one of the posters regards it being ineffective above Crystal. I have given up the barbs as they get swallowed up and gone all archers. Neither is effective in Master without losing big chunks of trophies but Crystal 1-3 with patience still lots of loot to be pinched.

I am currently using barch and comfortably farming between 2600-2700 trophies...barch and 2 lightning...I usually pull the cc troops if reachable first....get them all out...then try to lure them in such a way to stand over the highest level mortar the base has and double zap them with lightning so that they all die as well as the mortar...
I carry a CC full of giants to act as a meat shield where 2 other mortars are covering then as soon as they target on the giants I use about 4-5 waves of barch...once wall is busted and outside stuff gone I send my king and queen to help clean up and get to the core faster
