Another one of these everyday . What do you think is going to protect your loot better, max th9 walls or 2 inferno towers and an extra x-bow? Or stay at TH9, I love finding TH9 with loaded storages in masters because they are trying to max everything.

Loot is fine in th10 all the way down in gold if you want to barch. A few guys in my clan that raid non-stop just stay down there and collector raid, making good loot in a short period during boost. I can only raid a couple times spread throughout the day, so I either lavaloon or gowipe in masters, loot is fine there too.

It depends on what level the player you are.

I would max the lava walls then go forward.
    "easy"

    lol ok, stopped reading there

Whenever YOU feel right. It can be when you're maxed or semi-maxed or even when you finished the next upgrade. ANYTIME IS THE RIGHT TIME

Go to th10 whenever you want to. Everybody has a diff idea, so do what you want.
IMO a person should move up a TH after they've maxed everything. And I mean everything. I almost think the game shouldn't permit moving up until you've maxed the prior TH in every way.
I'd quit after th8. Ridiculous if you think the average player (without gemming their whole base) can manage farming all lavas in a reasonable time. And the definition of maxed entirely is too damn arbitrary to draw a line on (gotta have all decorations too?) Not like you get anything for maxing your town hall from the game other than bragging rights and I guess the defense/offense merit (though defense arguably only mattering if you're pushing/taking breaks often/warring)

"... so do what you want." - then goes on to argue that the game should restrict said ability, what a flawed mindset you got

It should offer 1000 each. this means they are only getting 1/20th (5%) of what i really have to offer since i am town hall 5. This goes with what I have read. In theory it will be the same when I go to town hall 6 and they can still only take 5% from me, but the town hall still giving only 50 of each the storage will be able to give twice as much up to the max 200,000 since i will be able to hold more when they are upgraded. So instead of 20k max a th10 can take from me it will be 40k, because I just have more.

[lots of maths, all can be found from the "Raids" CoC Wiki page]

I would say anyone at th5 and up should max everything BEFORE upgrading town hall, because after that is where the real fight begins if unless you go sub200 where it seems to be all weirdness and craziness, or like me, climb so high just to use the loot penalty and protection form not having anyone that can take everything from you.
I don't think that, as a TH9, he forgot about the loot penalty when considering this. There is actually an entirely different reason for why nobody should sit around and max until they get to TH9. Even without considering elixir for walls, the revert, and the thought that more inactives are falling out of the queue, it is universally accepted that getting to TH7 as fast as possible is the best route, due to the huge boost in offense.

If you're making your decision to move up or not based on how much players above you can take from you, you're making a huge mistake. Offense (farming) will pull in 10, 20 times as much loot in a day than you can ever lose defensively, depending on the type of farmer.

You are a TH5 right now so you haven't quite experienced the staggering offensive boost you get by going from TH6 to TH7, and then again from TH8 to TH9. It is unreal. And with this elixir for walls revert allowing it for only lvl 9+ walls now, there is an unbelievable incentive to get to TH9 quickly, wasting as little elixir as possible. Supercell introduced a broken system for it, and the revert artificially created a "golden TH" to do almost all wall progression as well as base progression in general now. But to not exploit the flaw would be hindering your own progress, so no you should not stay and max everything from TH5+, but get to TH9 as (responsibly, i.e. offense up to par) fast as possible.

Some of us want to waste our time as efficiently as possible.
Minimize the time wasted in the wasted time we're wasting on thi- oh my god I've gone cross-eyed.

Yeah, but then again he hasn't seen the massive drop in loot from TH8 to TH9 and from TH9 to TH10.

Lucky him, wish I had just stopped after TH8 lol.

I started my TH10 upgrade last Saturday. All TH9 buildings maxed, heroes both lvl 11, lab finished apart from valks which are currently going to level 3, all skulls and about 60 lego.

My choice was either upgrade now and probably have a max TH10 defense by the end of the year, all troops maxed, heroes upgrading faster due to extra drill - OR farm lego and lava walls for the rest of the year and still be a TH9 come 2016. When you put it like that, it becomes a very easy decision.

Kudos to anyone who grinds out lvl 30 heroes and 250 lavas at TH9, but it makes no sense to me.

I feel the same way. Started my upgrade last night, with around 90 legos and the rest skulls, with heroes in the teens. I figure that, as long as I stay at 2600+, the loot will not change to much. I also am excited, because I love higher level gameplay, and th10 will force me to go in the higher leagues to farm.

Id much rather have max infernos, Max defenses and Only level 20 or so heroes by 2016 then full lavas and max heroes.
