Mungo's TH9 Progression Thread

Good one mate. I like your upgrade progression. I myself stopped all upgrades, and farmed up legos, before i started anything else again ( AQ was obviously on constant upgrade, and she still is), but I think you are going a very balanced way to th9. I would suggest farming legos after you get the defenses to th8 level.

Today maxing th9 is becoming very popular...it's no more epic as when it was maxed by Tyrael, Unity Sharp or cloud whisky. Moreover th9 defenses are not a very powerful addition...so i think this is the best way to proceed.
Have you also considered to jump directly to th10 when you will finish walls and heroes?

Yeah I have definitely thought about it. But thing is, i definitely want to max out my heroes, and by being in wars, even though i farm so much de, i can only keep one hero upgrading at a time. So, the time required to upgrade my heroes to 30 will definitely take more time than me maxing my walls. Im pretty sure, by the time my heroes reach 20, i will be sitting with full lavas and no need for gold or lix. So, then upgrading defenses will be done with all the excess resources.

Day 20:

Lab: Lvl6 archers (day 8/10)
Builder 1: Xbow to 3 (day 4/14)
Builder 2: Xbow to 3 (day 1/14)
Builder 3: AQ to 6 (day 1/3)
Builder 4: De Drill to 5 (1/6)
Builder 5: Tesla to 5 (day 6/8)

Notable updates/thoughts:

• Started my last xbow to 3 -- in 14 days I can finally have a viable defense
• I decided to do the DE drill to 5 because I didn't realize how expensive AQ to 6 was and I didn't need the additional storage. I will take this badboy straight to 6.
• Here's my most recent defensive log. No xbows, 30 archers in CC, and no defensive upgrades really for TH9 (lvl5 AT, lvl2 AD, lvl2 WT only) I think I might have something decent. Jury is still out there though.

Nice thread. I will use this as my guide. Im th9 in about 5 days.

So I have 1 question, I have only 4 builders atm. So im wondering what buildings I should use it first? Assuming im a new th9.

Lab: Lvl6 giants (day 8/10)
Builder 1: Xbow to 3 (day 12/14)
Builder 2: Xbow to 3 (day 10/14)
Builder 3: AD to 3 (day 2.5/3)
Builder 4: De Drill to 4 (2/4)
Builder 5: Tesla to 6 (day 6/10)

Been gone for the past few days, hitting upgrade when I can on random things with the resources I had.

Notable Upgrades:

• AQ to 7
• DE drill to 5
• New WT to 3
• New storages both to 10

Plan of action:

Next lab upgrade: Minions 5

Both of my xbows are almost done! This has taken forever. At least I can start capturing my defensive logs realistically now as I have a few designs I want to test out

Next upgrades:

• AQ to 10 as soon as I can
• DE Storage to 5
• DE drills to 6. I've been debating this one a lot but I think it's the right move. Walls and Heroes are going to be the bottleneck for TH9, and even though there's a whopping 32 day catch-up time from 5->6 I bet you when I hit that mark I'm going to be thrilled to have two level 6 drills.
• All defenses up to TH9 levels.
• Keep cranking out one tesla.
• I'm also debating leaving one builder free for walls. Ugh.

Why did you prioritize x-bow so much? I've read here ''to protect my goods'', but... is that it? Do you war?

I'm asking because I will push the upgrade button today, and I'm not thinking to give any priority to x-bow as a new th9, I'm already being matched with th9 in war as th8, if I make new x-bow it will be worst, besides my th9 clanmates are pretty weak I will pass them even faster.

No, I'm in a farming only clan (until the new update) so it was more for defenses. I just wanted to get both of them done, as version 1 & 2 are like pea-shooters haha. Just like I imagine when I finally hit TH10 I'll upgrade IT's straight to 3. They're also much more intimidating as black.

I'm actually designing 4 of my own bases, so I'll keep them private for now, sorry. When my xbows hit 3 I'll begin enlisting testers and start generating logs of my own. Is there a reason why you want to see it? Feel free to PM me if you rather.

10 Million? Like 5 million gold 5 million elixir? I have been considering doing loonion in higher leagues to farm DE. At crystal 3 I can farm about 10-12 million (combined resources) and about 8-18k DE using BAM with 2 wbs. What league are you farming in?
