Thread: Defence "wins"? Are they really?

    Until I hit th10, I rarely got defense wins, but I really did not try. I kept my townhall in the corner and got my free shield.

    But recently, I noticed most of the snipers had also zapped me. My DE is safer if I go to trophy mode.

    Last season I got over 80 defenses on each account. I rarely lose a defense and it is the easiest easy for me to get cups.

    And while it would be nice to get bonus for defending, I would rather see a decreased cost to rearm traps.

    Might I ask in which league you park your maxed base to get zapped like that?

    My TH9 is park in gold 1 with max elix/gold and 90k DE and everybody is just sniping my TH. Not a single zap

    My main is in master 1 and I haven't seen a zapper there ever.

    Are you bringing your Ferrari into a poor neighbor to get so much hate?

All I got for my pain was 23 little notches against that massive number needed for unbreakable achievement and 537 trophies which I will probably deliberately lose as soon as I start playing in order to be back where I want to be…

    I have a strong base, and I like to see how it does in attacks, in addition I am almost done with farming anyway having just a few more walls to do, but it is making me think, give farmers some kind of financial incentive to play the game the way that you want us to (ie with the TH protected and not exposed for an easy shield)….. Please supercell at least think about some sort of defence win bonus, or at a minimum reducing the rearming costs, especially for upgraded air traps.. that is just crazy gold…
    You make some really good points with this overnight defence result. One thing that I think about with defensive win bonuses is that it's only really beneficial from crystal 2 upwards which gives even more reason to add it.

    the league bonuses in gold aren't even worth it so it won't reward farmers that should be in higher leagues, on the flip side though the th7s and 8s who should be in the gold leagues will still lose out by playing the way the game intended with or without a league bonus.

    so it will reward some players but not others.

    I feel ya....but

    I sympathize with you on this post. In a perfect clash world, there would be loot incentive to defend. But, realistically, that just won't happen and you must identify as a farmer or pusher. Can't be both, unfortunately. It would certainly make for a much more satisfying gaming experience. As it stands....only place I get any gratification from winning defences is war. Thats lame. But I would rather hold on to my resources than log in to see defensive wins. Shrug.

    I hang around in anywhere between gold and masters, and tbh it makes no difference where I am. Its not just th7/8 zapping me either, i get maxed TH10s zapping me also..

    Im not sure quite what you are saying about th7s and 8s? that they would go up in leagues to try and gain a decent defence win bonus? I think that it is more likely to find people where they are supposed to be..I suspect that most TH7 and 8s would struggle to gain many defence wins in high crystal, so would sink back to gold to get the bonus where they can?

    I dont really see why you have to choose.. Supercell has said in the past that they want people to value trophies etc. Im not a pusher, as I said in the OP i will more than likely dump most of those trophies when i start to play again, but i think it adds a dimension to the game to test your base and see how it does? why not incentivise?

    Only th10 have this luxury tho. No one wants to attack a th10 with infernos....even other th10 (farmers, not pushers). So having th inside even when you are sporting 400k/400k/3k.......is not taking much of a risk especially if you are one of those th10 hanging down in gold/crystal. Infernos are the reason why th11 is pretty much out of the question....Can you imagine the cost of upgrades vs only being able to steal 50% against th9? Who wants to have to train gowiwi or quat lavaloon with freeze spells to farm against a th10 or 11? I say what every farmer says when they come across infernos.....NO THANKS.

    Oh what I was saying is that I agree with you. And that you shouldn't have to choose. But unfortunately you have to and I don't see that changing so long as SC has to consider profit margin. I 100% agree with you. It sucks....But thats reality. SC wants you to gain trophies on offense, not defense. You spend gems on training armies and spells to gain trophies. Even if you gem a defensive upgrade....That is a one time expenditure. So of course they want us to place a value on trophies....but they have a preference as to how we earn them....(HINT) doing basically nothing (meaning spending no gems) isnt the winner.

    Yes I didn't explain myself very well, I am saying that they won't get great bonuses in gold and that the higher they push the less chance they will have at a bonus, however th9s and 10s can sit in decent leagues and get the bonus.

    Thinking about it though, that might be fair because th9s and 10s have put more effort in/played longer to get good bases.

    Exactly,it might actually put the 7s and 8s back in gold where i think they belong.. and if they get a defence win there (which is far more likely, especially being hit by farmers rather than trophy pushers) they will at least get something, its better than what they have now!

    These are good points. I hope that Supercell looks into theses ideas and atleast gives it consideration!!
