Totally agree with OP.
Farming and maxing my base hoping to win some defense always end up by losing resources from rearming traps, filling x-bows and infernos.
Loot bonus for winning defense should be a motivation to max your village
Sorry, i should have been more clear.
If you were able to defend, gain cups, and not become resource broke through doing so (collecting a bonus), then dont you think a lot more people would do it?
SC want an active, attacking game. Thats their vision.
It also helps, that an active attacking game sells gems.
My point was, that there are def only champs, and those that try and break break defensive wins per season in decent leagues.
But that cannot be done indefinitely, as resources for re-arming would eventually run out. At which point, you gotta hand a few $ to SC to refill everything.
If the def win bonus was only just enough to cover traps and ammo, it would provide a free way of reaching crazy cups.
Would still require a lot of patience, time, base and trap tweaking, but no boosting or insta-spell factory fills.
Thats all im trying to say.

I agree with you to a certain extent, but I am not sure that we are talking about huge numbers of people that play defence only are we? I like to win defences, but i also want to raid too, and I am sure that there are many out there that do the same. So whilst I understand that more people might be tempted to try this method, I cant see it impacting very hugely on the number of people that are raiding and therefore affecting too much the gem sales for offensive boosting
Getting some sort of defence win bonus I think would be a little incentive for people just to try out their bases a bit more, to see if they can hold up to full on attacks, another dimension to the game, and a bit of fun to be honest.. and if it covers at least some of the stupidly expensive rearming costs all the better

If they insist they want a trophy game, then all aspects of 🏆 climbing should be made more appealing.
Not my idea, but by far the best ive seen is the reduced cook time according to 🏆s. Particularly on spells.
Might genuinely encourage more people to climb, then has the bonus of improving clouds.
IMO, that follows similar thinking to the hero regen slash, so its not like its without precedent.
Throw the folks a bone, cheer them up, make it far less gems to insta wake or get more uses out of each boost; but then total number of boosts/gems used by the community rises as a whole.
I never used to boost king while farming, but would regularly boost queen on old regen time. Reason? Pay 10 gems and only use him every other raid, where queen would always be available due to staying out the way and taking less damage.
Now i can and will boost both. Can throw them right into the mix to get extra loot, and theyll both be awake by time troops cooked.
Ergo, i spend extra 10 gems per 2hrs farming.
