Thread: Defence "wins"? Are they really?

    Defence "wins"? Are they really?

    I don’t normally take much notice of my losses when my TH is inside and I’m looking for defence wins, but this morning when I woke up I realised that I had lost 22k DE overnight, so this made me study a little more closely what had happened whilst I was sleeping…

    In approximately 4 hours I had 23 defence “wins” (ie opponent failed to get one star or more)

    These attacks were made up as follows

    2 x Trophy Droppers
    5 x Proper attempts
    4 x Attempts then zaps when failed to gain any loot
    12 x Zap attacks only

    23 in total

    (the last assailant, 2 hours before I woke up, was kind enough to get 40% and give me a shield)

    To “win” these defences cost me the following

    257,839 Gold (mostly from zaps to my DE tanks, gold is adjacent)
    529,958 Lix
    22,355 DE

    In addition to this it also cost me 149,800 gold to rearm my traps, and I’m afraid that I didn’t catch how much DE and lix I needed to rearm infernos and xbows..

    So I have a question.. how are these “wins”..? where is the incentive for farmers to win defences? All I got for my pain was 23 little notches against that massive number needed for unbreakable achievement and 537 trophies which I will probably deliberately lose as soon as I start playing in order to be back where I want to be…

    I have a strong base, and I like to see how it does in attacks, in addition I am almost done with farming anyway having just a few more walls to do, but it is making me think, give farmers some kind of financial incentive to play the game the way that you want us to (ie with the TH protected and not exposed for an easy shield)….. Please supercell at least think about some sort of defence win bonus, or at a minimum reducing the rearming costs, especially for upgraded air traps.. that is just crazy gold…

    they should at least make trap rearming free if you win a defense... :/

    I guess that's why there is a clear distinction between trophy hunters and farmers, one sacrifices resources for trophies while the other sacrifices trophies for resources.

    I agree that there is no incentive for defending as the result seems to be that you lose even more resources through loot taken from stores/collectors/reload/rearms. I have long said there should be a reward proportional to the attacking troops killed. Until there is, even when pushing, my TH is outside.

    I had a similar (but not as bad) experience the other day.

    I sometimes switch between a TH protected when I'm playing, and TH unprotected when I'm going offline. This means I can log off between raids with little chance of being raided.

    Couple of days ago I forgot to change my base before I went to bed. I had 3 defs 'wins' and 1 loss (on my dead base) overnight at a cost of 1.3m lix. I had very little gold as I'm only using it for legos. I had about 160k DE and thankfully it was untouched in any raid.

    I agree completely the term 'win' is often misleading.

    I remember how I got into champion League the first time. I was going to drop the other day but wasn't bothered so I just broke my shield and hoped lots of high level players attack me. Then, when i woke up I found about 25 defence wins, half zapping, quater proper attacks and quarter droppers. Was definitely unexpected...

    They wont reward defence.

    Even though a trophy game was their vision, giving loot and trophies to defending wont happen, as it does not create any gem use.

    Hardcore def players can win 🏆s, but at some point the reload costs outrun the collector output. Therefore.....

    You get the idea. Much as i would like to see some kind of def incentive, if you think about it like that, seems highly unlikely.

    Not saying its unnecessarily greedy, just doesnt make any business sense.

    TH10s with 50+ hero levels, 9.5s with 40+, silent noobs<> needs you!

    Also when you take 300k from a dead base and surrender without taking any stars, it says you lose. I would say that's a win in my book.

    I feel your pain, but goodness you were lucky that DE wasnt zapped!

    How does this affect gem use? sorry i think im missing something..
