I went through it just as many/most others have. I can't say all because there are the gemmers who skipped this part of the game. You don't deserve a free pass because you don't want to grind through it. That is, unless you gem past your issue.
When and if you reach level 80+ and you are forced to find those easy raids in order to afford the 7.5 million for one troop upgrade, or the roughly 1.051 billion you will need to fully upgrade your walls from level 6 (yes, billion). I would like to see if you place yourself on the gutless *****s list.

Funny how the accusations of SC’s greed seem to stem from someone wanting for themselves. -BC
Instead of just complaining, come up with a solution.
Instead of demanding SC to wreck their game to solve a problem you're having with it, why don't you solve it yourself? Follow these three simple steps:
1. Lower your trophy count to a comfortable level according to your TH / defence level --> much more appropriate opponents
2. Put your TH outside your walls --> you will get attacked just once every 12 hours and usually not by serious attackers
3. Don't leave your loot lying around where it can be stolen; spend all your gold and elixir before logging off --> people will skip your base instead of attacking you (except those who'll do you a favour by giving you a cheap shield, see above)
I guarantee they'll work with immediate effect.
If you're still not happy, there is of course the other tried and tested method:
1. pack all your mines, collectors and storages in one corner of the map
2. place your TH in another corner of the map
3. place all your defensive buildings in the third corner of the map
4. place all the rest of your buildings in the fourth corner
5. Empty your clan castle, set your heroes to sleep, sell all your traps
6. use all your walls to write a message/draw a picture at the centre of the map
7. log off for good and go play Hay Day
I hope this helps!

Hay Day - Level 57 farmer
I may be bias because im a farmer myself, but i think one of the many things that make this game so great is the freedom it gives you.
i can choose to chase cups and play with the big boys or take it easy and take all your loot
But seriously, i can bet my right pinkie that you've raided a lower level than yourself.
its just how the game works, dont complain
