Healers are pretty much worth it IMO and has their own importance. I used hog-healer several times for grinding walls as th9. I see a lot of giant healer users with all lava walls. Hogs with healers just owns premie bases and several upgraded bases as well.
I always use gibarch with healers as long as I can remember. I tried barching but it's just wasn't fun. I'm a defense maxed th 9 and I still use healers to grind my walls. There are times when the healer heal a group of archers instead of giants. Sometimes she heals my hero and left my giants dead. But there are also times when my hero left standing alone with no defense and small health. Then come the healer and heal my hero so he/she can be used again in the next attack. Anyway I often 3* th 8 or 2* th 9 without using any spell thanks to healer.
I've never figured out how to be effective with healers. Heal spells are better.
At TH7/TH8 I tried healers but found them not worth the brew time anywhere near Crystal or above i.e. anywhere that defending vs air starts to get consideration. At TH9/TH10 I tried hogs and healers (before the changes that made hog farming too hard / costly), having seen it on here and youtube - no good in my hands, I had much better success just using around 20 hogs with 1-2 heal spells and lots of barch etc for cleanup etc - one of my clan mates used it a lot but he wasted loads of heal spells, so from what I could see he might as well have saved brewing healers and just made a few wizards, barbs n archers. Even at low TH levels, I've found that healer-based strategies are often too slow to crush a base with loot all around, so b-arch with a heal or two (maybe a rage) works just as well and is more reliable. For example IMO a TH6-TH8 in Silver 2 is much better off farming with b-arch which can get loot out of almost anything there. A TH9/TH10 in M3 is much better farming with a loon-based army (or b-arch if you are good). A TH10 in M2-Champs is much better farming/pushing with anything else than a healer-based army.
Respect to anyone who can make good use of them, but on my main account Healer was quite deliberately the very last troop I ever upgraded in the lab (was left at level 2 from TH7).
my healers r lvl 3 and they are quite useful...just put a rage or healer spell on top and let her work from there
Sub30 Quantum
for high lvl raiding healers won't do much consistently compared with other troops
New TH10/heroes:30-30/clan: Emphatic Elite
I had good results farming TH7~early TH8 with Giant-Healer + Bag for gold/lix plus the occasional DE storage. I got near Crystal 1 with it and had to drop trophies to get easier bases. xD
Barch is obviously faster for gold/lix but harder to get to the DE.
Raged healer is crazy powerful. One healer ends up healing as fast as a heal spell. With several its like instant max HP on healed troops.![]()

I've been hit a few times by an army of max healers (read: 10 or so) backing up a high level AQ and almost nothing else.
The builds differ slightly, but they would usually clear away a small outer layer with barbs or archers and then break into thr first layer with WBs.
Once open, they'd send in AQ with the cadre of healers. My defenses couldn't kill her fast enough and her range plus the healers range meant that nothing could really hurt the healers except for traps... and the mines onky killed one while the bombs didnt do enough damage to kill them.
Sometimes, they would pack a jump spell or extra bunch of WBs for when she starts inevitably shooting walls...
But it worked well against me when I was a young/mid level TH9 and im waiting for my AQ to get to lvl 20 so I can try it for myself.
I did a gowi-valk with 14 valks....2 golems 14 valks, 8-10 wb, rest valk. It was pretty awesome to watch, 3 starred a high TH9...I will definitely do it again...slightly less dark than a gowiwi....
