as long as your workers are always.... Working, then getting walls up to par isn't a bad idea. Eventually you will have to level them anyway.

Sure, but I think I would be better off at this point with 25 pink walls and 10 extra skulls.

Just found this thread. Very interesting. I'm in a similar position myself - been TH8 for about a month, I was almost maxed at TH7 save one barracks and an elixir collector.

I prioritised things a bit differently on the defences. I mostly get hit by mass dragons in wars so maxed my AD fairly early on. I upgraded 2 AD at a time which was risky but wasn't hit by any air attacks during the upgrades. In the last war I was only hit once - mass drags, 2 star, so feels like a win to me. Yes the attack wasn't very good but I think 666 AD is intimidating to TH8 air attackers.

I have had a builder on tesla duty since hour 1 of TH8 - I have had as many as 3 teslas upgrading simultaneously but currently have 2x level 4 being upgraded and 1x level 5 currently active in my base. Also, from a war perspective I don't think people are going to expect to see high level HTs pop up when they see the rest of my undeveloped defences

I see that most people have mortars quite high up the priority list and, maybe I'm missing something here but 9 DPS from a level 6 mortar just seems weak. Yes, I understand that its actually 45 damage per shot and they do splash damage but I'm just not seeing it as a priority at the moment.

My king is currently on his way to level 9 and I want to max him asap as the long upgrade times are such a pain i just want to be done with them. Plus, level 2 iron first won't hurt

In the lab I did barbs, archers, dragons, wiz and now doing loons. Next up is wb probably. I don't see level 5 rage as being a massive uplift over level 4 and will do heal and probably lightning before i get to rage.

I think I made a bit of a mistake in getting all my walls to purple before starting skulls. Funnelling walls don't need to be super strong and I would have been better off getting my core skulled before getting all the pink walls purple I think.

Lv6 Mortar can 1-shot Lv6 archer in 1 shot, and that's HUGE deal.
I do not do wars, so AD upgrade is not my priority.
I was in TH8 (from max TH7, except HOG LV1) for about a month and a half, and I also had 4 builders. After upgrading all the new buildings to "TH7 max", My plan to have 1 builder for splash (i.e. Mortar/WT), 1 builder for Telsa, 1 builder for Archer/Cannon (rotating). The other builder I usually reserved for doing wall, or bombs (during night time), upgrade BK. This had served me well.. I had all Mortars at Lv6, Telsa to Lv4, and BK to Lv10. I usually just BARCH, and recently switch to GiBarch. GiBarch actually does not take too much longer than Barch, as 1 Giant takes up 5 space and so it is 120seconds compared to 100 seconds (as I sub 5 bar to 1 Giant). Once you practice it well enough, I find myself "nexting" less. I am also trying to move myself up to Crystal to get the loot bonus.
Wiz is big improvement, but I don't use it much as it takes long time to cook (same as Balloons). I had Minions at Lv4 though, which I would try to use BAM later and that should allow me to farm faster. I do have Valkyrie, which I like as I throw in a few for the GiBarch, and it proves to be quite successful. With 2 Valkyrie, it is only 140 DE it is very affordable... especially if I am in Crystal league, the DE bonus is 100 each, so it practically pay for itself.
I also had about 60 Skulls wall now...

As I said, I don't do walls, so my upgrade priorities are different than yours. Good luck and you probably want to leave 1 builder for walls as you seems to farm quite often, and you can benefit from knowing you always have a place to dump gold into is pretty good!

Past few days have been busy but had time to farm today.....

Had 2 free builders, put both of them on Mortars, leaving 1 more to go.....

In 4 hours my last Tesla will finish upgrading to lvl4, want to start my first Tesla lvl5, need around 1.2mil more gold.....

2 days left on Balloons l5, going to start Rage l5 after.

Plan on buying another! $15-25 in gems to boost my DE Drills, along with getting my King from l6 to l10, I plan on getting my Minions from l3 to l4, then my Hogs from l1 to l4.

Not counting what is currently upgrading the defs I have left are.....

1X Mortar l5 to l6
3X Tesla l4 to l6
5X Cannon l9 to l10
2X Arch Tower l8 to l9
5X Arch Tower l9 to l10
6X Bomb l4 to l5

200X Walls l7 to l8

So my defences will finish way before my lab research......

Decided to farm some more..,..

With 4mil gold and 5mil elixir I will be able to pay for the Tesla l5 upgrade AND AT #4 when #3 is done in 23h.....

With my Balloon l5 upgrade finished in 2 days I really want to start Minions l4 but only had 18k DE, need 30k. So I thought I would just settle on Rage l5.....

Decided to do some DE raids, The last hour of my boost......

Went from 18k to almost 25k!!!!

So 30k for Minion l4 upgrade should work out after all.....

Only thing I hate is when u have a lot of DE you can count on 1,500-2,000 to be taken every 12hours hahah

Been farming, atm have 4.5m gold and max 6mil elixir.....

Would rather not but......the smart thing to do is......

Upgrade Rage l5 next instead of Minions l4.

Rage l5 costing 3mil elixir I won't be maxed out with nothing to spend it on.....

With the DE I have Ill start my King l7 instead......

Going to finish my inner row of walls so they are all skull l8.

Have 8 walls left there.....

There are a few spots where the wall is connected like a" +" sign.....

So breaking that wall gets you into all 4 compartments, I need to strengthen that.

Also have some T spots that lead to 3 compartments, will do those next.

I guess Tesla will wait till tomorrow since I'm upgrading my King, will try to wall farm a bit.....

Update:

Yday Balloons level 5 upgrade finished, started Rage l5 bc I was sitting on 6mil elixir with nothing to spend it on. Minions l4 will be next for sure....

Been working on my walls quite a bit....

Decided to keep a builder free so I wouldn't be sitting on max gold for several days, it's working pretty well so far......

55 Skull walls as of now. 25-30 of those were done in the past few days.

My center wall is all Skulls, so now working on 4 way junctions and areas that are the most vulnerable to Wallbreakers

Plan on doing all 225 before th9, doing some now so I'm not left with a ton of walls but no defences to upgrade....

Archer Tower level9 4/5 has 10h left

Both Mortars level6 2/4 and 3/4 have 1day to go.

King level7 has 1 day 4 hours to go.


My plan is to finish my last mortar and last archer tower first....

Then the plan is to upgrade all 3 Teslas at the same time from 4 to 5, then from 5 to 6, while those are upgrading I will work on my Level 10 Cannons and Archer Towers with my other 2 builders.

Also plan to work on my walls at the same time, when my Teslas are finished it would be nice to have close to 200 walls done......

Also going to get my King to level 10, Minions level 4, and Hogs level 4 if I have time, prob won't have time to get hogs all the way to 4 though, we will see.

Then it's time for TH9!!!!!!

I know I'm still a few weeks out but finishing my last upgrades now: ).

So I'm a little annoyed at super cell....

Went to Safeway which usually has $15, $25, $30 (3x $10 cards), and $50 Google play cards, wanted the $15 but they were sold out so went next door to Rite Aid.......

They had a $10 Google Play Card, Sweet!!

But when I went to buy gems they wouldn't let me get the 1,200 for $9.99, because now they charge tax, which they didn't do last time I bought one a month or so ago.....

I had to buy 500 for $5 with like $4.52 left on my balance. So not only do I feel ♥♥♥♥♥ed out of the 200 extra gems I would have gotten, I also can't do anything with the remaining $4.52 I have without buying another card, even then I'll always have a balance.....


Wish super cell would have notified us about this, if this was the case I would have just bought the $15 or $25 card....

So with the gems I have I will boost my DE Drills for a few days and boost my barracks.

Anyways farming for gold, boosting 3 barracks and my King......

1 Builder is working on my last Archer Tower Level9.

Have 4 free builders atm.....

My goal is to start my last mortar and my 3 tesla lvl 5 upgrades.

Already have 55/225 walls done. Heard they might lower the price in an update coming up so putting priority on my final defences now......

Only 200k left for the 1.6mil I need for my mortar and the teslas being 2.5mil each.......

So 7.7mil gold total I need to farm, might not get all 3 but my goal is to get at least 2 done today, so 5.2mil gold.....

So gonna do 3-4 2 hour boosting sessions today since it's my day off hahaha.

Also going to atk easy bases for trophies, sick of silver I. Going to go back to gold iii. The loot at silver I is horrendous for th8......

Just wanted to add that aside from the upgrades I'm working on getting gold for now all I have left building wise is......

5X level10 Cannons
5X level10 Archer Towers
6X level5 Bombs
170 Walls

Also would like to do.....

2X Barracks from lvl7 to lvl9 (so all 4 can train Dragons)
1X Dark Barracks from lvl1 to lvl4 (for th9 easier to have 2x DB for hounds and witches)

Lab Research Wise I won't be able to do everything bc the defs will be all maxed but I will at least finish....

Minions lvl3 to lvl4
Hogs lvl1 to lvl4

Pekkas lvl1 to lvl2 or 3 (if I have time)


So it looks like I have less than a month to go, 5 week's for lab research. ....

When research is finishing abd defences are done will work on walls and put my builders at first on barracks, then collectors if I have to.

So might not be a horrible thing to get them at least to 10, if not 11 while my hogs are finishing up, rather than moving to th9.

Been boosting for 3 hours, 60 min left on my second round of boosting my King + 3 Barracks......

1.5Mil to go for Tesla #2.....

Not sure if I can get it in the hour, might boost 1 more time. We will see how I feel hahaha.

Averaging around 160k gold per raid, which isn't good, used to 225-250k, just got back to Gold III, so maybe that will make a difference in loot.....

1 Mortar and 2 Teslas done for a total of farming 6.6million gold, took 5 hours of boosting to do it.

I'm going to wait to start Tesla #3 and keep a builder free to do my walls. Or else I would have absolutely nothing to do sitting on maxed out gold AND elixir.

So going to work on walls for a bit....

Also 3 days left on my Rage l5 upgrade, have like 8-9k DE, so I'll need around 22k more.

Boosting DE Drills will get me 12,960DE so ill need to farm the remaining 9k or so DE.
