As many flags as there are (I want one too!) they aren't adding any new flags because they realized they caused a loading issue - meaning lag. The current flags will stay, but none will be added.

New flags were ruled out a long time ago for the exact reasons you listed but if the rumours are true next update will bring improved graphics and performance therefore it is possible that extra flags could be added without causing issues.

I don't know but until then SC needs to find a way to stop the flag reqs
