They say 'I can leave my TH outside and likely save these resources', or I can protect my TH as the game intended and be raided about 4 times and lose everything"

What damaged the economy was the deprioritization of inactive bases combined not adding a viable replacement of that loot. Putting your townhall outside is just an attempt to remedy the situation.
Well yeah, what damaged the economy is that as well as the current elixir for walls situation, as it actually flushes resources out of the system that no one can get to.

You have to go back to what gorzo said about available vs absolute loot, and then you'll see that all this TH sniping is not good for the game, not necessarily the economy (at least on a macro scale, like you mentioned right away).

If you were to ask 100 random players from TH9/10 if the amount of Nexting to look for a base is excessive, to the point of being a problem, I would guess that at least 85-90 of them would agree. A large contributor to this problem is that bases with lots of loot, which would lead to less Nexting, are constantly being hidden from other players as they are sniped for lucrative league bonuses immediately. This has an actual impact on the types of troops players use (as did the elixir for walls update), b/c the risk of using a more expensive army and not finding a base for it in a reasonable amount of Next costs is now incredibly high. Those players then don't have the storage-cracking army they'd need when they come across a base flush with resources, so what do they do? Snipe the TH.

You've effectively turned a player who wanted to hit storage bases into a TH sniper b/c of the effect that rewarding TH sniping has on player behavior. It reinforces itself, and the only way to fix that problem is for Supercell to take the reigns and reform the league bonus system so that it doesn't do that.

I don't have any experience up in high Masters/Champs, and I assumed since the bonus is so much it would encourage players to bring heavy armies and go for the storages as well, but even there I've heard that TH sniping is overwhelmingly more practiced than full on storage raids.

Do you really not understand why he keeps it out, while pointing out that TH snipers are messing up the economy? So he should protect his TH, while no one else in the game will do this, b/c the game is designed to have your TH outside or suffer multiple hits on your base? He's working within the constraints that the game is laid out. He is also in favor of changing the system so that TH sniping isn't so prevalent. So get the hell off your high horse with this "then why don't you put it inside?" question as if that will do literally anything to resolve the situation, and not just harm him while it continues to be a problem overall.

There's a way to stop TH snipers for the purpose of farming instantly, and it involves reforming the league bonus system.

1-star: % of league bonus rewarded based on % damage done to base
    2-star: 100% league bonus rewarded
3-star: multiplier applied to league bonus

There is a bit more that goes into that, to offset the inevitable lower loot injection into the economy from it as well as avoiding exploitation by large TH level disparity, but that's the gist. Try to tell me that players up in Crystal and Masters will continue to TH snipe rather than go for the storages when they are only offered 2% of the league bonus for doing so.
This made me lol, thanks for that. If he's complaing about the problem then why is he part of the problem? Don't come on here and complain complain complain when you are the problem. Your arguement doesn't make sense. You're being very hypocritical. Omg the snipers are ruining the loot but I'm gonna leave my th out so it gets sniped and no one can take mine.' Get out of here with the ♥♥

But you have to remember that the league bonus is also injecting resources into the economy at the same time, and if players aren't spending elix to take down Th's ie using the queen to snipe, then its literally tens of thousands of resources coming into the game at at time.

It does take out bases out of the queue especially at higher levels, but those players need a shield too you know. It may be hurting attackers, but defensively, it works wonders at protecting loot. Of course if players with advanced defenses threw their TH inside, the likelihood of them being attacked by a player significantly decreases. Now that the Economy is re balancing itself, the paradigm is shifting from barching and low tier armies to higher tier armies for safe-cracking. Once it fully stabilizes and resources are coming and going, TH snipes for quick shields will decrease as well.

That's just my view on the whole situation

Hey man, what happened to you was pretty rare but at the same time look at it from the snipers point of view. I recently pushed from gold league to masters league for the free gems (Just turned TH 9 on New years day). I usually don't snipe but When I hit crystal 2 Most ppl had their TH inside, so when I saw a snipe I was happy to take it because Not only was I running low on elixir since I was only using Loons to try and 3 star any base i could for the trophies. I saw some nice offers but knew i could not 3 star it so I just took the free TH for the 5-10 trophies.

Enough about me what about the low level TH or townhall snipers? they might just have full storage's, there upgrades dont cost much so im sure their storages get full quickly therefore they don't care how much loot u could offer because their storages are full anyways so there's no point raiding you. In your examples you have shown that was not the case but I guess the person just didn't think it was worth full out raiding you for some weird reason.

I see your point though, for you its a waste, to the sniper they have done a good deed and get trophies and a loot bonus.

I suppose it comes down to who you blame..... If someome puts food out everyday, and then complains abouthe rats infesting his neighbourhood, do you blame the rats, or the person feeding them?

It's the farmers leaving TH out to blame for this issue If it's an issue at all......
They "don't care about sniping" but then they go and say that Nexting costs are too high, or--what they really mean--which is that they have to Next too many times over dismal bases to find one worth hitting. Most people on this forum are not critical thinkers. That's not meant to be an insult but rather an observation. Many are children who haven't yet learned about economic behavior, and others simply refuse to look at something more than face value before offering a dismissive one-lined "it's good for everyone" response. If they did understand it/take a moment to really think about it, they'd see that the TH sniping issue--that they're saying isn't an issue--is a major cause of the Nexting problem. But that connection is never made by most people here, and they think the two problems are unrelated.

How can you blame the players for keeping their THs outside? Tell me one single benefit of protecting your TH vs keeping it outside your base (a real benefit, none of this "well you have a chance to win a defense" then what is the benefit of winning that defense?) Supercell designed this game in a way that there is zero incentive to keep your TH inside. So don't even try to start blaming the OP or any other player speaking up against it for doing so when if they kept their TH inside, it would be a completely negative move on their end and not have any effect on the overall problem, as everyone else will play to the constraints that Supercell provides.

Supercell caused this problem of players TH sniping over hitting the base when they made TH sniping so damn profitable with all these league bonus increases. They didn't consider that at some value, it might start having that effect. That effect that be almost totally neutralized by simply reforming the league bonus system, and our own forumer Gunkar provided an excellent structure to get it started.

    http://forum.supercell.net/showthrea...nus-multiplier

1-star: % of league bonus rewarded based on % damage dealt
    2-star: 100% league bonus rewarded
3-star: multiplier applied to league bonus

    This is the first snipe.

As you can see I have only been sniped and zapped.

    This is the second snipe.

So this sniper has hidden 300k of inactive gold and elixir, and 2.33k of inactive dark elixir.

The total amount that has been hidden by this sniper is 704/613/6.33k. That is a large amount of loot that was hidden.

Before anyone says that they didn't have enough troops or something, look at the below points:

    1. It doesn't matter, the selfish snipers still hid that look from you guys; and

    2. They had enough troops to take a significant amount as can be seen in the below pictures.

So in summary, one of you forum users could have taken 300/300/2k from me + league bonus of 65-100k depending on if you are in crystal 1 or masters 3, just using barch or mass arch. Or you could have taken 700/600/6k from me using lavaloonion if only these selfish snipers would think of what they are doing to the economy.

So, what's the point on getting out your TH, and giving the snipers the chance to take down your TH? You just could leave your TH hidden.

If you can't grasp the concept that players have to play into the constraints provided by the game, then trying to educate you any further on this is a lost cause. Until you can provide me with a response that makes me satisfied that you understand this, I'm not going to continue arguing with you. There are people in this thread who disagree with the OP but still understand why he and his supporters still keep their THs outside, and aren't using that as a reason to debase his argument. They aren't doing that b/c they aren't children who are trying to cherry pick one aspect of the OP's situation that doesn't invalidate anything he's stating. Don't bother responding if you aren't going to have anything of value to say.

Are you kidding? The point is to protect his loot. Obviously he loved what happened on a personal level. He is saying that on a macro level this isn't good for loot or the game. I tend to agree. My TH will always be outside until my base is 100% maxed. The game mechanics are so broken that this is the painfully obvious choice. I can still hold the belief that this is poor for the game overall.
