    Loot inconsistency

I am starting a new thread for this, simply because it is something that is happening now, and i can't figure out any good reason for it. For about a week there have been quit a few nice abandoned villages with 500k available loot for th9's at 2000-2300 trophy range. Over the last three days they have gradually disappeared, and now there seems to be none of them left. Anybody have any insight on this. I could understand this if it was just after an update, but the update isnt due out until probably next week. This posting is more of a curiosity than a complaint. Im pretty sure i will be able to find a new sweet spot. I just wonder what would cause such a drastic change. I am nit talking about a difference in time of day or a period of a couple hours. The loot was consistent,y good for about a week, and now consistently poor for about 2 days, with a gradual tranisition of a couple days in between... Any thoughts?

Think about your theory for a second.

If people have quit, how would they ever stay at trophy range 2000-2300?

There is no "theory" here. This is what has happened. The inactive bases got to that level in the first place. They have been there. I have been raiding them. Those particular ones may have dropped in trophies, but something has happened so that there are not longer bases like that at that level anymore. If they drop quickly from being raided, then there should not have been so many of them at that level before. My question is why the change?

I was hovering around 2000 earlier in the week and was doing fine with my raids. As the week went on, I began to lose more on defense than I was able to steal. In my opinion, players with more advanced bases than mine have begun to drop their counts in order to find profitable raids. A cup range that had a low population in the begining of the week now has an inflated population.

Easy, and they may continue to increase in count as well. If an account is abandoned and the collectors are easily accessible, a farmer will simply steal the loot and move on, giving the abandoned account a win, cups and potentially a shield, while a one star loss will end in minimal cup reduction. So remaining at a certain cup range is realistic for an inactive player.

    Thumbs Up Anticipation

In anticipation of the new update people are dropping or living out their shield longer. Some are even growing some balls because I'm TH9 with all defenses left only one lvl to go with the exception of my lvl4 wizard towers and people are actually trying to raid me. Lol. Most fail but the TH is outside which pushes me down a lot when they fail hence a theory for the inconsistency.

More often than not someone sitting over 2000 trophies doesn't want to lose an easy raid. They'll drop enough troops to get 50%

I have read before that inactive bases are merely set far back in queue in terms of order of attack. Maybe supercell just bumped these up in the queue for awhile to add more loot in, and then they either ran out of inactive bases at that level, or bumped/kept the rest back in queue again? Some of these have been inactive for a long time (advanced th9 but with no dark elixer drills, storages or barracks). I agree some of them should go down in trophies in time, but some still take a very strong attack to defeat, and imagine many like myself were farming them and not worrying about getting 50%. Any other theories?

Yes, I agree, but the minimal cup reduction on a 50% loss, or multiple losses, can be made up very quickly with a 49% defensive win. There will be those who don't mind losing the cups for a large raid and there will be those who can't quite reach that 50%. So I still maintain that maintaining a cup range is realistic for inactive players. Or at least they will very slowly drop in count. Of course this all depends on how well defended their base actually is.
