Some clans like to have pop-up war clans as it allows members to go back to the main clan and resume farming or trophy pushing. All they have to do is to come back to the clan to do their war attacks. That said, the risk is that some of the players don't come back but in an established clan, that isnt a problem.
if they did it to get an advantage why not just report half of the clan? instead of 2.
Troll bases aren't allowed?
Saying something offensive in the chat or typing something inappropriate/offensive in your clan desc. is the only way to get you temp banned. They are leveling the playing field if you have done any of these.

1.) Yes the total revenue may be higher but the revenue per player is much lower. You have a much higher player base with f2p games so you cant do the same effort per player.
2.) Offensive base layouts may also get you banned after the last layout editor change but so far I have only heard of bans because of written text with walls that was directly offending the other clan.

honestly with the amount of these kind of threads popping up recently it seems SC has decided to really crack down on violations and dish out a ton of bans. unfortunately I think its getting to the point where sometimes they are just issuing a ban whenever a complaint comes in rather than evaluating each one and some low lifes are capitalizing on this by reporting anyone and everyone during war to try to get an advantage. they may have reported your whole clan and only those 2 got banned. the woman one may have deserved it and the second one may have just been negligence on whoever reviewed that complaint.

Heyy! First of all, thanks to everyone who replied back - I've read all your responses and will try getting back to each one in this comment. I signed up for email notifications when I started this thread and was under the impression that I'll be getting emails when there's a reply here but I got none and I'm glad I randomly came here to check on the status of the thread today.
Anyway, we are pretty sure that their ban was through the screen shot + report option, not through global since they haven't used it. This is why we assumed that the ban could be because of their war base. This is just an assumption - but a pretty firm one. But if there were any other reasons behind their bans I'll be more than happy to know what it was. So we can take the necessary steps to avoid it in the future. We did email supercell but haven't received a reply yet.
Why didn't they report and ban more of us? I don't know, maybe they tried to but weren't successful with it? Who knows.
I understand that it is against the CoC rules to design your base in a vulgar or inappropriate way. And I honesty don't think our player #1s layout was anything inappropriate. It has the outline of a female body - which shouldn't be a problem for anyone who's not shallow and close minded. For the second player, the only "inappropriate" thing I can think of her base layout it that it might sorta represent a swastika; I know that's really offensive to a lot of people (myself included) but her base basically only represents it so slightly that you can only see it in that way only if you look for it. Or at least that's the most inappropriate conclusion I can come up with about her base.
Is there a way I can post the clan war bases here for you guys to see it or not? (Hopefully that won't result in my ban too -ha!)
But overall we think that supercell is taking this way too far. Just as the person above me said, I'm assuming they receive too many complaints and just go ahead and ban most of them instead of actually reviewing each one. I understand if a genital or an insulting wall message might get you a ban, that does make sense. But I don't think our bases fall into that category unless you're taking the whole banning thing way too seriously.
Can't agree more with you - I wish supercell sees this and takes it into consideration.
Ever since the banning incident, our clan members are all second thinking about buying gems in the future. It something as simple as this could result in our ban, who knows it might even be a permanent ban next time and we don't want to risk seeing our money going down the drain.
