Social Media/Forums for Clans

I am wondering how many of you here use some form of communications outside of Clash of Clans to talk with your clanmates. I have setup forums for a clan before and found out that most people do not know how to use forums, they were extremely confused. I grew up using BBS ( Bulletin Board Systems), IRC(Internet Relay Chat) and forums. I do see some of the more organized clans do use forums,kik ..etc.

If you have used a method of communication outside of your clan what was it and did you experience any issues with members being unable to figure it out (user error).

There was a clan I joined and they wanted me to register in a forum... I think it's too much to have a forum for a clan as it still is a mobile game... I'm ok with kik even tho it drains my phones battery.

Well I know it is only a mobile game, yet I used to play a game called Kings of Chaos, which literally is a text based game which is multi-player very similar to clash yet text based. I remember we had forums and even chat rooms for our respective clans.

I used to admin for a clan for an actual game, not a mobile child's game. But I don't really see the point of making forums or using chat programs for a mobile app.

Yeah, my clan has a forum, mainly so that networking is much easier.

Wow I'll check out that program I used to have an IRC client in forums so we can real-time chat but I noticed that forums were daunting to users so I didn't want to scare them more with IRC.
