    Barracks Boosting Idea

    The idea to allow players to pause a barracks boost has been posted several times here on the forums. However this idea is shot down rather quickly every time, and with good reason. Along with the obvious exploits, allowing players to pause their boost is not beneficial to supercell in any way, in fact it would decrease their income from barracks boosting.

    The two hour boost make sense for supercell and cater to the more hardcore players. However the more casual player is less likely to be inclined to boost, because for the most part they don't want to spend two straight hours playing and don't want to waste the gems only using a portion of the boost. I have a few ideas to alleviate this problem with minimal or even improved economic effects for supercell.

    I for one would boost a lot more, resulting in the spending of a lot more gems, if I was not required to dedicate two consecutive hours to fully utilize the boost. I don't always have two hours to dedicate to playing the game so I don't boost. An hour or 45 minutes is a much more realistic time frame for me.

    1. Add an option for players to start a one hour boost on all offensive buildings. Making the boost cost 6 gems rather than 5. This still encourages players to use the two hour boost as two one hour boost on all four barracks ends up costing 8 gems more.

    2. Add an option for players to start a 45 minute boost for 5 gems per building. Still making the two hour boost more appealing, as using two 45 minute boost cost the same as the two hour but you lose 30 minutes.

    3. Leave the boost as is, but allow players to pause the boost one time. This one would be a bit more complicated to implement I imagine. But this would allow players to split the boost once, which would prevent players from pausing the boost after every army is built.

    These ideas would result in players boosting far more often, meaning more revenue for Supercell.
