Doing them earlier will help you focus on lvl9 walls and maybe then lvl10 instead of having 3 lvls to do. What I did was doing about half before upgrading and the other half after starting the upgrade. Every wall level you get will make your base look stronger and will make most attacks think twice before going in.

Nobody can honestly answer this question for you. It all depends on how much you raid. I only got half my walls to lvl 8 when I hit th9, oh no. 3 months later I have half of them to lvl 9, the other half to lvl 10, base is maxed, on my way to th10. I have loved farming at th9 far more than I did at th8. Level 6 barch with more housing and an archer queen rocks. with 1 or 2 spells I can even barch all of a max th8s storages. Im glad I waited a bit to upgrade walls too because I got lucky and they added the elixir for wall update shortly after. Raiding gets a lot easier once you have an archer queen at lvl 5+
Having full skulls at TH8 is overrated, especially with todays elixir wall rules.
Walls are boring but satisfying if you have them high leveled, so yes, keep grinding your skulls

You answered your question in the first sentence of the post. It's a game, if you want to go to TH9 then do it. I went to TH10 with level 6 walls(way before elixir for walls) and also had most defenses max or 1 level from max.Originally Posted by Zeus541

I would say do as many as you can now. Way more gold upgrades than elx upgrades at th9, so if u have skull walls u can dump elx in walls.
If he leaves them he will get bored even before he finishes his LEGOs. Did you try this? Doing 3 high lvl walls in the same townhall? Really boring. If you haven't been in such situation I wish you won't be such thing

All up to you and how you wish to play the game. IMO, walls are the most overrated thing in CoC but yet the most bragged about thing on forums so you are going to have most people telling you to max the walls.
There are no right answers, only what you feel you want to do. TH9 is great fun and the AQ and other goodies add entire new aspects to the game. If TH8 has become boring, then move on up and enjoy the new aspects. Only a very small fraction of CoC users have high Lv walls (even skull walls are a minority) as I quite frequently hover from C3-M1 and so many people seemed to stop at L7 walls. My mini account is a TH8 and I stopped at L7 walls and it is not a problem at all.
Find what is best for you and have fun. IMO though, unless you are a die hard player who puts in hours everyday and wishes to war a lot with high lv clans then walls are not necessary in the slightest past L7/8.
