TH8s- What are you spending your elixer on?

rushed th9s that didn't want to sit on Elixor. Oh wait I need 5m for my de drill upgrade? Or 6m for most L6 troops? Soon u will have preemie th9s whining... N th10s can get in on some of the Elixor.... Patience

I really don't understand these complaints. I am TH8, I have upgraded all buildings that require elixir and have 5 or 6 elixir upgrades left in the lab. I have all level 7 walls and I plan to upgrade at least half to level 8 before going to TH9. So yes I will soon not need elixir for upgrades. Yes, I would like to be able to spend it on walls and make that process go faster. But you still have two opportunities to take advantage of.

First is the opportunity to train various types of armies and practice with them, especially Gowipe. Yes, Gowipe also needs DE, but the cost of 3 PEKKAs is high when you trying the attack out for the first few times and fumbling around figuring it out. Also, gold raiding with mass dragons can be quite fun, especially since you don't have to worry about trying to get all three stars like you do in a war.

Second, become your clan's Sugar Daddy. Donate your tail off. When you get finished raiding for gold, load up your barracks with PEKKAs, Dragons, Wizards, what ever your clan mates want. Your clan will be better off and you won't have a load of elixir that will draw attacks from TH9 and 10s causing you to lose your gold as well.

Those are great ideas to do with non-usable elixir, but that doesn't negate the reason for the complaints.

It makes no sense to stay at TH8 if you are letting elixir go to waste. Supercell introduced a poorly thought-out system for elixir for walls, then followed it up with a lazy band-aid fix that created a "golden TH" to do your walls at, rather than look at the source of the problem and solve it from there. Every one million elixir that goes wasted at TH8 is a lego wall that you missed out on had you gone to TH9. Farming at TH9 is fantastic, which would be great and all if TH10s didn't continue to suffer the same fate that TH9s did when lvl 7-11 walls could be used for elixir. The revert didn't do anything to fix the economy, it just chopped off two TH levels from contributing to the mess that TH9/10s are still able to cause. That's why there's a problem with it.

Are you in week 48 of TH 8? Just curious, because I've had max elixir storages since about day 2 in TH 8 (been here about 3 weeks). I'll finish up my 3 barracks upgrades (2 elixir and 1 Dark) and a couple more labs and get out of this miserable TH.

Let me get this straight, you can go raiding with a huge expensive army, let's say ten level 3 Dragons and three level 5 rage spells, total cost 459k elixir, and you end up with even more elixir? You sir, are indeed a CoC master.

I am a CoC master, but.... I don't do armies like that all the time, they take too long. But overnight I'll build the most expensive one I can. I'll have max elixir after a couple raids. Even if I get hit for 300k, I'll be max again after raiding for a short time. And yes that expensive army usually gets me 200-300k elixir, even if I don't try for it.

Are you in week 48 of TH 8? Just curious, because I've had max elixir storages since about day 2 in TH 8 (been here about 3 weeks). I'll finish up my 3 barracks upgrades (2 elixir and 1 Dark) and a couple more labs and get out of this miserable TH.

Probs about 5 or 6 weeks now, moved up as a maxed th7 minus a few de upgrades, lab upgrades alone are around two months for elixir, barracks, elixir drills/storage etc are also a couple of months. haven,t even looked at the upgrade to Lvl 12 for collectors yet. I suspect when I grind out skulls I will have an excess of elixir so I figure I will practice some th9 style attacks in order to get plenty of gold and prepare myself for the next level.

When I was there I did the following:

*Cook 10 dragons & 3 rage spells overnight - to overpower the first base I see in matchmaking or someone in revenge.
*Cook Wizards during breaks throughout the day to give my clan mates CCs come love.
*Threw all 3 out in the corner for a fast injection of trophies and to make some progress on the unbreakable achievement.
*Boosted my spell factory and enjoyed freedom to use spells as will. [this was actually late TH9 for me, as I think spells cost gold way back when I was there]
*Donated tonnes of lv 5 Wizards in Clan Wars [was in my TH9 days]

I really enjoyed the game more during the days of surplus elixir. You just have more freedom.

I do none of those things now, because elixir is just not flowing enough and wall temptation is always there.

If you enter to TH8 as a max TH7 you will defintly face the full elixir storage after 10 days in maximum.
Because All elixir needed upgrades are barracks, one DE drill and de storage lvl3,4 then you just need elixir for researches which take ages to complete.
You have to upgrade barracks one by one otherwise you should wait for a long time to train troops.
IMO TH8 should max all offenses (include BK lvl10, golem lvl2, dragons lvl3) and rush to TH9.
I think there is no point sitting on full elixir and de storages all the time just to upgrade defenses.
