I've had a lot of fun being a member and elder in a number of clans, but I feel the strong urge to start my own. Any advice for a rookie clan leader?

I to am trying to be a clan leader and can't get anyone to join
it depends on what type of clan you want to grow. A war clan, a farm clan, a donation clan... start there.
I was lvl 91ish at the time, and I wanted TH8+ for my new war clan.
After some intense recruiting I found myself short on players needed for our first war. (its only 10 people...)
So I opened up for some TH7s as well, filled the roster and started our first war. Recruiting and replacing players as needed. Soon were 18-0 doing some 20v20 wars (which was our goal.)
Best of luck! (And I'm not sure this is the place to post this...)

I agree with the above. Figure out what type of clan you want first. Best thing you can do is take some friends that you have made in other clans and help start your clan that way. Do not worry about getting big fast. The bigger the clan, the harder to manage. And believe me, with a good clan there will be a lot to manage. Try to get people around your level. Do not think that quality TH10s are going to want to be in a clan of TH6s. But the best way to grow LOYAL members is to take them in early and let them grow under your wing!
And learn where posts go on the forum. You will find much better traction on this thread if it was in the proper place.
Best of luck!
