TH10 Upgrade

I am thinking about moving up to TH10. But I was wondering how this will effect my clan's matchmaking in wars. Are inferno towers HEAVILY weighted? Call me crazy but I have this idea of going to TH10 and NOT building inferno towers just for war sake. Have you ever seen someone do this?

I've seen plenty of TH10 ranked lower in clan war than maxed TH9. I can't say it will change your matchmaking

War is equally about def. Getting your 2 infernos and 1 xbow will greatly improve your defs, even at level 1.

Our last war, their 12th player was a rushed TH10 with dual inferno in disco mode. Our maxed TH9 could barely get 2 stars on him.

Anyway, you have to put your gold somewhere

They are very heavily weighted. When I was a near maxed (walls excluded) TH9, I was very surprised to see a rushed TH10 with level 1 infernoes as the number 1 in my clan.
However, this isn't really a reason not to get them. If you're doing a 45 vs 45 war, all that's changed is 1/45 members. I doubt that will make a significant difference to matchmaking. Unless you're in a small clan of TH6s, I'd go for infernoes!

Yes, actually Hulk from Reddit Troopers is doing this right now. He is solely focused on offensive upgrades at TH10 (maxing heroes to 40, army camps maxed, spell factory and lab upgraded, and troop/spell levels maxed). His Th9 was completely maxed (all lava walls and maxed 30 heroes). From what I've seen, he has NOT built a SINGLE new defense at Th10, dumping his gold into cc upgrade, zap walls, and new/upgraded traps. In his lab, he's done barbs, wall breakers, lava hounds to max, and is trying to max his freeze spell (going on 4 now from his video). He is in a war right now, and it seems that he was still matched with a TH9 from his recent youtube video. This will allow him to slowly practice and get the skills to know how to scout and three star a Th10 at his own pace. I think you can check him out in Emphatic Elite right now, but he jumps clans quite a bit.

I plan on doing this as well when I hit Th10 after maxing Th9.

Wow, that' a really interesting idea. Never even thought of that. I'm maxing 9 too but that's given me something else to think about.


How's he holding up when he gets attacked? I guess he's not an easy target for another th9, but what about other th10's?

Supercell imo really needs to make war match making alot better. From what i have seen in my (24/7 war) clan its is beyond unfair. We have 1 maxed town hall 9 and a town hall 10 with level 7 walls and is maybe half done excluding walls with th10. We were matched against a clan with 5 town hall 10s. 1 maxed with level 9 walls, 2 others just around or th10 and the other ones were max th9 type. Our clan was destroyed by that clan, though i thnk we pulled off a draw. Still not fair imo

I'm with him in Emphatic Elite atm, got 6 stars this war again. Still waiting for hulk to attack!

Yes they have a HUGEEEE effect on rank in wars. You can be a TH 10 with defenses equal to a th 7 but if you have the 2 infernos and 3 x bows you will be ranked higher than a COMPLETELY maxed TH 9. Other than maybe a couple cases of that person having really low defenses.

I'm not sure, I'd have to ask him. But I infer he's holding up just fine if he's been doing so many upgrades. dumping gold into walls only makes his base attractive for 2 resources, and dealing with a max th9 base including heroes is no easy or cheap farming task, even for a th10.
