Unless you gem your waiting times then there is no way you need to invest anything like that amount of time at TH8.

you get more loot at th8 than you do at town hall 9 so easier if you just get all level 8 walls there instead of town hall 9 since it's harder

I raid all the time, i'm a th8 with a gold grab of around 310m and elixir escapade of 290m and Heroic Heist at around 350k.

i have a clock on my phone that rings every 22 minute when my barch is done then i go raid and train up my army and activate the clock
works 24/7 but i take it off at school and at night 24:00 to 04:00 and then i wake up by clash of clans within the first 4 seconds of opening my eyes i take my phone turn off most of the light on the phone so i can see when i'm raiding and then i repeat.

Not that hardcore, back when I was a TH8, I had an alarm every 4:30 minutes reminding me to click in order to remain active and not being attacked ;-) Good thing is that I'm now a TH10 and can easily leave my base for the time my troops are training, most of the time without being attacked (and I'm now attacking with baloonions, so it takes 45 minutes).

And by the way, I do have a job, a wife, some friends, a hobby and even 2 kids ;-) but have to admit my wife is not always that happy of my addiction to CoC

My advice is to stop losing your life in a game and have real experiences that you will remember in the future. Clash is an entertaining game, but it isn't supposed to take all your life... Play with moderation...
