If you want to do what is right and not fight, then turn the other cheek and walk away and make your elders proud, but if you choose to fight in this war of resources, then remember it's not about how you play but whether you're willing to do what it takes to win. If you wanna do what's right, then stand tall and proud in the light of day, but if you're gonna make your way up through the ranks of this virtual warlike game and pounce on those that stand before you, then under the cover of darkness and with lightening bolts in hand, squash both those below and above you with every ounce of fight you can possibly muster.

What are they teaching to kids in school nowdays? Back then, we learnt early on to pick on the smaller ones and leave the big boys alone if you valued your own skin. That is pretty much how this game works, is it not? You steal the candy money from the first graders and hope the 9th graders don't spot you carrying all that cash around until you managed to spend it on the lunchbreak.

The first couple complete wipeouts from folks way higher than you aren't the happiest of memories, but you live and learn. Options are many: gem to the top and revenge like crazy, delete the app and blog how unfair it is or do what most who stick around did: learn the ropes, grow strong and go beat up the smaller kids

Getting farmed is part of the game, there are however ways to minimize the damage suffered.
As suggested earlier, dropping in thropies (i'd suggest staying below the 1k threshold) is a good method.

I'd further advice to keep your coffers dry, that is make sure you do not stockpile on loot until you can spend it on an upgrade. Go for a lootrun if one of your builders is nearing completion om his current project so you can spend it forthwith.
if you stay below 100k gold chances are you'll be passed over for more juicier targets.

And last but certainly not least; be patient. Make sure that you are not getting ahead of yourself by rushing your TH upgrades without upgrading your defences.
