What clan were you in before? Are you a spy?

I know this suggestion has been made so I am just giving my support to it. It would be nice if we could see what clan a person was in before they want to be in my clan. This would be helpful to weed out spies during war.

Don't accept new members during war. I've never had a spy in my clan. Why? No new members during war. Period. Set to invite only and try this out. Also, if a spy is worth anything he will just join another clan or a fake clan, then join yours. You're not offering a bad idea, it would just be really easy to work around. Attentive leadership and good rules will solve this problem for you.

We have had numerous people try to spy during a war when we used to be set to invite only. The last time was really pathetic. 20 seconds after the war started we had 3 people suddenly want to join. We rejected all and all 3 went back to a 3rd party clan. What are the odds that 3 different people want to suddenly join our clan and after join the same clan? None. This 3rd clan was obviously a feeder where other peoples 2nd/3rd accounts were located. So - even trying to spot a spy the way you suggest would not have worked as they did not come from our opponent directly.

Since then we have a policy that the clan is closed during war and we reopen after the war. That is the only way to prevent spies.
    I got nothing

A lot of clans like mine do wars back to back. Its not easy to grow while remaining closed all the time. Although I do agree that showing the previous clan will not help by much, preventing switching between clans in a clan war would help to some extent. The best thing is to let a clan know if the new member has been a part of the opp clan at any point of time.

Going to war back to back is your choice. If this creates problems for recruiting, it's a problem you created. I offered a fool proof way to keep spies out. Another thing I do...I don't accept requests without the recruiting thread or global request mentioned in the text. If it says anything other than that it's a automatic reject. Careful recruiting practices can help you out here. Try it and see.

We had a female member that went to one and announced herself. Both that she was from the opponent clan and that she was a girl. These guys were so enthralled with the latter that they ignored the former. Asked her out and everything. (never mind who lives on what continent huh?) She thought the whole thing was a hoot and she is actually a late middle aged housewife. In the end we did not really take any info and use it. Didn't need it. Just having fun.

After she came back she three starred the guy that kept asking her out. But that probably made his day so all good.

If everything angers you then you will spend your entire life being angry.
If everything pains you then you will spend your entire life in pain.
