    I'm annoyed for selfish reasons, but realize it was the right move. If I needed elixir, it would be easy enough. Should make the start of th9 less painful when I get there in a few weeks.

    It does make things easier as a new TH9. I have been using expensive giant armies along with spells to raid 27.5k DE needed in a day for my AQ upgrade, and while my elixir hasn't increased, it hasn't decreased either.

    Th8 here. I am glad they removed it, because I was totally neglecting troop upgrades in favor of dumping excess elixir into walls.
    Now that it is gone I am maxing out troops and will soon be able to go to Th9.

    I'm still actually a bit annoyed with elixir walls. Sure, it is great for TH7 to TH9. But what about TH10...or a future TH11?

    How are they supposed to get elixir if TH9 and higher can drop $1 million elixir at a time into lv 9, lego walls?

    SuperCell should go one step further and lock out elixir walls until lv 10, lava walls - costing $3 million each.

    By been forced to save at least $3 million elixir before doing a wall you are allowing more players - particularly those at the top access more elixir as well.

    I still see far too many bases with terrible elixir totals in their storages, occasionally a TH8 will max elixir. But due to blasted loot penalties I can only steal 150k of it.

    some people can farm more than 3M gold/elixir per hour mate.
    I still think supercell should make all walls gold only. It would be fair for the whole community.
    walls lvl8+ are luxury things in the game. If you need them you should try hard to grab gold.
    Now with the lvl9+ elixir facility I decided to max TH8 offense + max splash defenses (BK lvl10, farming troops, AD,Mortar,wiz tower) and then rush to TH9 to dump my elixir. I WILL NOT SIT ON FULL ELIXIR AND DE STORAGES.

    OP collecting elixir has never been hard as a TH7 or TH 8. If you had problems the plbck.

    The point of reverting this change was to help TH10s get elixir. This change has not helped them at all as the TH9s can still put it all into walls.

    We are now in a completely stupid middle ground where the TH8s have massive excess of elixir so will be sat on full tanks for 80% of the time they spend at this level.

    TH7 and below have a very good balance of things to spend gold on and things to spend elixir on.

    TH8 (in particular) and above all have many more items needing gold than elixir ( for TH8 110 million gold v 67 million elixir), not including walls. So 2/3 the amount.

    With walls costing another 128 million gold to max (which I am not going to). This means assuming that gold and elixir are earned at about the same rate that TH8s have an excess of 171 million elixir, when only 67 million is need in total!

    OP you don't see the fact that to farm all the gold required at TH8 you will end up with nearly 4 x as much elixir as you need to be a problem?

    It is all very simple maths.

    All those above TH8s saying that TH8s are complaining now, you all seem to have very quickly forgotten that this change was made in the first place because of all the complaints from the Th9 and Th10s that they had nothing to spend elixir on. What has happened now is that Th8s are stuck in this position because of the previous complaints and then changing your minds...

    TLDR,

    In conclusion the way it is now, is not working. Elixir should either be able to be used from skulls up (as TH8 is the first TH level with a big gold/elixir offset) or not used at all until Zaps.

    Errr can we wait till I convert my last 21 walls to lego before that happens :P

    it is working. Unlike th8, th9s have to save a huge amount of elixir for resesrch ( 6million ), and DE drills that cost a lot. TH9s always have more elixir, on average. You just want super easy walls. (;
