Gripe on fresh TH7 DE farming.. and the BK Price

Hi everyone, semi new player here to the forums. I just hit level 50 and new to Town Hall 7, and i couldn't wait to rush a Dark Elixir Storage so that i may farm my way up to the Barbarian King!! But alas... i realized how nearly impossible and time consuming the 10,000 Dark Elixir takes to achieve.. So i started for about 2 weeks, playing back to back trying to " NEXT NEXT NEXT" each base looking for the mere 100-200 Dark Elixir i could steal. So here's the gripe.. I spend hours on end attacking ridiculously stronger bases then mine to steal anywhere from 40-200 dark elixir, after spending 30 minutes (i counted..) hitting the Next button, just to finally go to bed and wake up to Two attacks on my base..

1- i won, 216 DE stolen..
2- i won again.. but 185ish DE stolen.. uhh..
So i spend all day, farming and making tedious little armies back after back after back just to farm up 200 DE and lose it.. how am i suppose to reach 10k....? without some sort of Collector? Has anyone else felt this way? Anyone else realized how time consuming and tedious it is to Farm up 10,000 Dark Elixir for your Barb King and not have all d@mn month to do so?
Sorry, i just had to vent. i really do love playing this game but this whole 10k DE thing is irritating.. They should at LEAST nerf it to 5,000 DE to make it easier..
Anyone else feel this way? I would love to here your guys' thoughts about this same issue if anyone has any ideas about it.. thanks!

Apparently there was a supercell reply on facebook that said the Barb king and Archer queen would be easier to obtain. (in reply to a facebook comment)

If you are looking for DE, you may want to look around the 1400 trophy range but it is risky because this means your base will be destroyed easily by TH8s and TH9s. You will be able to find a lot of TH9s carrying 1-2k DE. Three lightning spells on the storage can get you quite a lot. Of course, people hate it when others do this. Look for TH8s with exposed DE storages and go for only these (forget about other resources) and you should be able to get 500+ per raid.

go up to 1400-1500 and use lightning spells on fat th9 like myself. In between re-making spells, raid easier bases. You should not have any issues getting 8-10k in one day. That of course if your spell is level 4 and you could stay online for that long.

Honestly, don't worry about getting the BK so soon. Just concentrate on upgrading your base until it is strong enough to hang around the higher trophy counts. Build up the DE slowly. I only just managed to get the BK a day or so before starting the th8 upgrade.

I probably could have gotten it earlier if I had worked for it, but I'm more of a casual player, and this was much less stressful.

you mean online all day..? yeah right? uhh.. tried that, phone turned to a microwave and my body was aching of doing nothing all day lol.. i'm at 1200 trophy range and i'll just sit here and wait for the update i guess, don't feel like breaking my back over a game's tedious farming >.>

You're trying to farm it at too low of a trophy level. Try around 1500, with 10 WBs, lots of gobs, and enough archers to kill exposed THs, so that you can regain the trophies you lose when you drop triple lightning or gob rush TH8 and 9 DE storages.

That's not what they said. Somebody complained about 10,000 DE being a lot for BK at TH7, SuperCell's exact response was "Maybe we will Diego, maybe we will!" Could be a hint at things to come, but could also be nothing more than a teaser.
