    Hide traps for War Observers

A lot of clans send alternate accounts to spy during war. Disabling viewing of traps for war observers or new members during war prep and battle day would cut down on ♥♥♥♥♥ing.

I have a better idea. Switch to invite only and don't accept new members during war. This is user error, not something SC needs to fix.

Welcome to the forums. Grab that search bar at the top and don't let go.

Whenever my clan warred against another clan that was also invite only, I could never find them in the search, not even when I searched it from another clan.
It records who you are warring against (I think) and does not make that page accessible to you, now, to prevent spying.

I don't think it's fair that a clan should have to change the way they recruit members just because they don't want other clans spying in wars. It's mildly useful to be able to see eachother's traps in war bases to give pointers and suggestions but I don't think it outweighs the risks. Could perhaps be only visible to people who have been in your clan longer than 1 war or something?

I'm pleased to here they've implemented a block to stop people searching for the clan they're fighting against, however this doesn't stop people having second accounts not linked to their clan that they use for spying. And how does a clan know who the spies are when they're requesting to join an invite only clan?

    Can't stand people that spy

yes sucks .... so do lots of things -- but in this case you have a sensible option --- do not accept during prep and war day ---- easy peasy ......

p.s... There is no sensible block --- during war prep day, you can easily see all of the oppositiopn stats, plus view their profiles, evaluate troop strength, and visit their "real" day to day base's ...... (check the little blue/white star towards mid/top right of war map you don's need to search for them ....)

Check the tools you have got -- your opposition may be using them

I just tried searching the clan we are at war with and got it fine) however this doesn't stop people having second accounts not linked to their clan that they use for spying. See my comments above.

I do not think SC should be doing anything about this/ Spying is part of the game and its the job of the clans to deal with it. if you don't like the solutions others have given you then feel free to think up your own. But it would be a mistake to have SC do anything that hurts other parts of the game.

Here are some ideas to help you...
Set decoy bases during prep day. the best ones look a lot like your regular bases but have the traps swapped around. Then if a spy sneaks in he screws his own self taking back the incorrect info.

I personally do think closing your clan is wise. Revolving doors are usually causing bigger problems than just a few spies. If you are taking guys in and using them right away then the hopper problem is hurting you more than a few spies.

And also if you have so much turnover that you have to constantly recruit then you definitely have some larger issue you need to correct. So my opinion (that you are free to ignore) is that you fix these larger issues ands then maybe you would not be hurt but closing your clan or at least going to invite only and refusing all at certain times.

Another trick is to set up a recruiting clan where guys join (that one is wide open all the time while the war clan is not) and they have to wait through one war before they can be in one. this does 2 things for you. 1) The spies are now somewhere they cant see anything and 2) it will filter off all the war hoppers.

If everything angers you then you will spend your entire life being angry.
If everything pains you then you will spend your entire life in pain.

Yes crystalis above said they couldn't find the clan they were warring against in search.

Don't worry I don't have any problem with member retention in my clan. We're invite only anyway and turn away 90% of people who apply. However we do kick anyone that doesn't fight in war or attacks selfishly, and we war back to back, so there's always a brief period where we go Anyone Can Join while at war to check out some new players.

I'm just saying other clans that are still trying to grow want to be 'Anyone Can Join' all the time and are then exposed to spies. I think its pretty harmless to block people who have just joined your clan from seeing your traps, I don't think that would damage the gaming experience in any significant way.

It would kill clan strategy sessions. You are speaking for a rotating clan, you do have a lot of turnover (and hoppers) based on what you are saying. There are clans that do not recruit at all, very closed groups that work tightly together as a team and they would not want their ability restricted. So yes, your idea would be harmful indeed.

No hoppers, only people I kick for not being team players, and there are less and less of them now my clan is filtered and reaching 100% perfection haha. Wanting this feature isn't about me, I just think it'd be good for the game in general.

You're talking about closed groups that work tightly together. Blocking new members/observers from seeing their traps wouldn't affect these long standing members at all.
