I actually had this idea last night like literally 5 mins before I fell asleep, can't believe I remember it.
So it goes like this. Once you reach th7, colonies become available. Little villiager lady pops up saying "Hey Chief, guess what our explorers have found? A perfect new island to settle into." There are three colonies you can discover; 1. Agriculture colonies. 2. Mining Colonies 3. Precious metals colonies.
Agriculture Colonies- Unlocked at th7. Villagers live and work the fields here. They sell their crops and send their gold tributes to the main village. In the middle is an elixir well where they harvest elixir for the benefit of the main village. What gold and elixir not sent to the main village is kept in the colony's bank and stored up for upgrades.
Mining Colonies- Unlocked at th8. This colony isn't quite as lovely scenery. Rocky terrain and industrial looking, this is where miners find gold buried deep in the mountains and drill for liquid gold: dark elixir.
Precious Metals Colonies- unlocked at th9. this is where all the action happens. A very prosperous city full of rich merchants and well paid workers. Workers mine for Dark elixir and gems here, averaging about 3-5 gems sent to your viliage a day.
The way they all work is like this. You use the currency produced by all the colonies to slowly grow them up. You build houses for workers to live in and buildings (depending on the colony, farms for the first colony, mines and drills for the second, a new, special gem mine and drills for the third). The more houses built, the more workers making you cash, and the more work buildings, the more income. Colonies can only be attacked if someone has raided you. So when you click revenge, it will ask you if you want to raid their colonies or regular village. You can steal the loot both in the bank and in the resource buildings, but because its so easy to steal with no defenses, only a small fraction could be stolen. Or, as an alternative, the villagers could act as a sort of cc, take up arms and defend the colony? A militia if you will.
Thanks for reading, and if there is anything else you would like to see, let me know and I will be happy to add it. Cheers!
