Don't max the collectors if you're an active raider; waste of time, IMO.

Why not? You get the extra camp at th7 and those extra troops you can use to pick on th6! He'll be able to find a lot of dead th6 base as a th7 and with those extra troops hell still be able to have the power to take on strong th6. I had my brother do this who just started. He skipped pretty much th6 got his barch up to th6 level and was still finding great loot as a th7 barching. Now he's got his barch up to th7 level and he farmed his BK! Another tool to have that a th6 cant have.

Collectors and lab work are the only two things I would not recommend people stay at a town hall level to work on. If every single one of your other upgrades are done (or will be done by the time your town hall finishes upgrading) then you should upgrade your town hall. Eventually you will hit a wall bottleneck (at either TH8 or TH9 depending on the rate you play) and will catch up on any collectors and lab work that you haven't finished yet.

If you have nothing to spend money on because all your buildings, traps, and walls are upgraded already, then you clearly are not currently in need of higher level collectors because the money they earn has no value to you. I would start upgrading your town hall with the next available builder (and use any other builders to keep working on your collectors so they are not idle and wasting time).

In my opinion the game gets less fun and more tedious each time you upgrade your town hall. The first part of every new town hall level is exciting of course, but then the grind sets in and each town hall level's grind is worse than the last. I would never recommend anyone skip the fun of a town hall level just so they can experience the bigger grind of the next one (which is made even bigger and longer because they skipped most of the upgrades in the previous town hall level). Town hall 6 is short and fun. No need to rush past it and never enjoy it. Town hall 7 and 8 are the first town hall levels that start to feel a little bit like a grind (TH7 feels grindy for less active players, while more active players probably don't notice any grind until TH8).

Also, one of the biggest things to consider is not just what toys you get to play with but who can attack you. There are a lot of TH8's out there. It is much better to have them only be able to get half your loot (and thus most likely next past your base) than be able to get 90% of your loot (and thus usually attack you).

It's best to upgrade collectors while your town hall is upgrading. Max out everything and save the collectors for last.

Keep in mind though you're still get to do your upgrades at th6 but your just doing them as a TH7. That's the great thing about this game is you can play it however you like. You max out your base or just rush it you can trophy push or farm. Now I wouldn't recommend rushing to like a TH8 or anything above that but skipping th6 to go to a 7 isn't too bad. In fact it might even be worth it because of the DE storage. I remember raiding as th6 and getting DE and not be able to keep it. As a TH7 with a DE storage you'll at least be able to keep that DE.

As with the loot penalty yes you'll open yourself up to raiding TH8's but we all know you'll get that loot back in a couple of raids or if your lucky 1 raid with barch. Plus as a premie TH7 youll be able to pick on those TH6s with 20-50 extra troops. No one should be scared of losing loot unless your not that active or a terrible raider. TH7 is probably the best TH for loot too because most people quit this game between th6-TH8 wheb when the grind starts and by then you've been playing this game for a month or 2 and some people just cant play a game for that long.

Anytime that you rush a town hall level you must put in more time to fix your mistake, i have a second account that is on its way to being a max town hall 6 and i have to say that i'm finding Plenty of loot to keep it alive and well, i don't need the king just yet and for most people they don't even get the king until the end of town hall 7 anyways. On my first account i rushed my base to town hall 7 and it took me over 2 months to fix it. I am against anyone rushing because it simply hurts themselves.

What makes you think loot is bad at th7? My brother is actually getting tons of loot with the replay he's sharing plus he's gold is full. In fact he's getting so much elixir that he got his DE drill to L2 and DE storage to L2 since he had to dump his elxir i'm not telling people to rush every TH I'm just telling them to rush th7 and max there.. really what is he missing out as a Th6 when he can still do all this things as a th7 with an extra camp pluplus you also get that DE drill.. as far as the time you'll spend the same amount of time maxing out as th6 and a th7.. I don't see how rushing to a th7 is going to be a set back to your progress. In fact you'll probably progress faster with having a DE drill right away and storage so you'll be able to keep those DE that you raid and get extra DE from the drill.

I do not believe I said the loot was bad at town hall 7. Sorry if that's the way you took it. I am just simply advising the most responsible way to approach this as not every person wants to spend a lot of time at one town hall level.

Well guys I thought I would report back. I have only two collectors to finish upgrading. My TH is almost done and I'll be at 6. I'm glad I stuck it out and got the collectors maxed. Even though I raid very often I can see it helping out a ton in the future as things don't get any cheaper. Right now I collect over 100k of each just in the overnight hours. Saves me a raid right there. Anyway. Thanks for the opinions and hope it helps someone else make up their mind on way or the other down the road.
