Player Duels are probably a fairly common request, for good reason I believe. Players have always wanted to fight each other one on one to see who has the better base and who is better at attacking, especially in clans where you will often compete with your clanmates.
I propose that Players should have the ability to challenge another player to a Duel. This would, similar to a request to join a clan, send a message to the player's inbox that says "_____ has challenged you to a duel!" Obviously, the player can decline or accept the challenge.
Assuming the Player accepts the challenge to duel, both players will engage in a war-type battle, with three hours of prep(as most army and spell compositions will not take much longer than an hour, higher level ones normally steering close to two), and after the preparation, the duel begins.
Duels will last One hour(subject to change)and each player has the opportunity to attack once during this hour. The loot will be very similar to the loot gained during a war battle(not the loot bonus), so a set amount that won't be stolen directly from the players' storages. The player with the most stars at the end of the duel will be the victor, receiving a very small loot bonus(based upon TH level of you and the competitor) that will be delivered to your clan castle.
Clan castles will not be able to hold defensive troops, and players will not be able to use offensive clan castle troops. This is because the point of a duel is to test YOUR abilities, not the abilities of your clanmates' troops.
You can only duel once every 12 hours, starting from when your previous duel ended. This applies to both players. This will prevent massive duel spam, which would allow infinite loot to come into the game.
As of now, I believe that you should be able to duel any player you want. A brand new TH2 COULD challenge a maxed TH10 a duel, but if the TH10 were to accept, the TH10 will obviously receive almost no loot from defeating the TH2, while the TH2 will have a chance at much more loot(though still a small amount as to stop lots of loot from entering the game).
Even with all this said and done, there are always some good and bad to come with an update of such caliber.
PROS
- Allows new Achievement(s) to be added, giving more experience and gems.
- Allows friends(and enemies)to compete to see who is the better Clasher.
CONS
- Duels are very boostable, especially because it only requires two people and will be easy to boost with alternate accounts.
- Though needed to stop new loot from coming in game, there won't be a lot of incentive to duel players since it will give very little reward while possibly costing you upwards of hundreds of thousands of your own loot.
I'm VERY open to suggestions and any ideas or tips to improve upon this idea, to hopefully see it come into the game one day.
