I have been playing since the early beginnings of HD, so have seen many changes, improvements or things that in my eyes made the game worse.

I do not expect us to win all the global challenges, because then they would be no challenge, but if the personal goal prizes stay as lame as they are, I do not think that many players will try to achieve them.

It is funny to receive an egg from the wof, but not a green voucher for several trucks orders.
For sure! I can get one of them for every boat I do, and maybe that would cost me less in actual production items than 8 truck orders would!

I must agree fully with the posts by perkycox and pilothaggard. I also agree with tonysfarm's suggestion of a full expansion as a reward. That would be great!

Nick, I know you keep saying the timing was off, but what did you expect with it being DECEMBER. Lol. C'mon.

I'm not really sure how the current global event will pan out. Maybe if folks also received the double coins they would be more likely to participate. That way, if the event fails, at least you got a nice chunk of change (for those needing it anyway).

This is sort of off-topic here but what if we had a voucher exchange? We could trade in so many green or blue ones in exchange for gold or purple.

Anywho, these last few events have driven me to C.o.C., lol. I found a clan I love and participated in my first clan war! It was much more exciting than completing 12 truck orders in Hay Day. :/

Nick and I go way back to before he gave the 'moderator' role or whatever he was, to Crickets. In fact, he did that within a few hours after my contact with him questioning SCs official statement concerning how difficult some of the changes would be. I wish I could say i caused that, but I know better. Just a coincidence. Nick and I have not often seen eye to eye on many issues.

Due to my software engineer background I used to shout '♥♥' (as well as other tech engineers) when Nick would describe all of the problems with solving the diamond confirmation issue (remember how long that went on for).

Still, I will give Nick a chance on this issue - to tell the powers that the masses are getting restless and they had better come up with a solution, or face watching the game fade off into the hd sunset.

You want a real grand prize that is bound to get the attention of EVERY player, from level 1 to 200? If the goal is met, a free barn upgrade to the next size for all who qualified. No matter if your barn is size 100 or 9950 .... You are going to want to play that event. As I used to tell Nick, the design, coding logic, testing, and implementation to make that work is minimal.

how about it SC .... Time to step up to the plate and add some creativity to the game.
Oh, yeeeessss! I would be right there with MiniGardner, flinging diamonds at Tom in order to win a free barn upgrade. I would be so excited I would have to change my knickers! A free barn upgrade really would be Amoozing!

Agree Tony... agree... this is the one thing all players from level to 300 (yes, there are players with level 200+) look upon. The other day, a mid level player questioned 2 high level players in my NH chatroom what they're doing after all challenges are gone... their answers: keep expanding barn!

I honestly thought the goals for the holiday event were a mistake. They were insanely high. Even with a fully mastered and expanded loom and sewing machine, it was impossible to make enough shirts to reach the last personal goal. (Unless you had a stockpile in your barn or hired Tom.) I've never seen that before.

My guess was that whoever set the goal just looked at the time it would take to make a shirt, forgetting that what really counted was the time it took to make two pieces of cloth fabric.

I thought the New Year event goals were also unusually difficult. Compared to other events - even recent ones like Halloween - they were very high. While muffins don't take as long to make as pies, that doesn't mean you can make twice as many of them. With things that take a long time to make, you can fill the queue then go to bed, work, etc. With things like muffins, you have to be around constantly to restock ingredients.

I tend to agree. I think even this current event global goal seems very high for only 4 days even with trucks being generally pretty easy and quick.

I have a slightly different perspective on this one that I have mentioned before and would like to repeat it. I know some might say that since I have quit playing that I don't have a stake in this matter anymore but hey. I'm gonna say it any way.

A lot of folks also felt that the Christmas personal goals were too high because Tom was almost completely necessary in order to finish them. ( I say Almost because like Janilee states, the only way to do them without him was to have a large supply in advance). But I disagree with this because the prizes given for each goal were decorations that for the most part required diamonds to purchase. Before I made the decision to use Tom I saw that most folks were getting the snow globe and Christmas trees as the last couple awards and since they cost more than Tom, it was a no brainer for me. That's how I looked at it. I do agree that the total goal was too high and that was a severe disappointment to me. The New Years event so quickly after the one before it with its disappointing awards was destined to fail even though I did my best on both mine and the game my daughter plays to get the prize. Maybe if the awards were more balloons or decorations then it might have had better success. I don't know.

At any rate, I'd like to thank Nick for his responces here, I know everyone was looking for some responce as was I,even though as I have said, I am no longer playing at least for now. Thanks again Nick!

Thank You Nick for your reply.

I would like to say thank you for your reply Nick.

I can only speak for myself and let you know the mood of the players on the FB forum pages that I am on.

The Christmas event - I started the event, but once I saw that the prizes were the ones that I already owned, I was not of the mindset to continue. This was echoed by other forum members that had the prizes already. Yes I wanted the Bell, but did not want to put the effort into getting prizes I did not want duplicates of. I really thought that if I donated my goods to another player that we would make the global event. I guess that I was wrong as many other players decided not to pursue their personal goals either.

The New Years event - With this event, I had a large head start as I had in my barn over 200 muffins. Then I made more to donate to other players to help them. Granted, I did not really care about getting the record player. And this is what I heard so many other forum members say. They were not going to finish as they did not care about getting a record player.

The Global Truck event - I was a bit disappointed with this event. I was hoping for a truck event with double XP as we have not had an XP event in a while. I do truck orders continually, so this is not a big deal for me. However, the 5 diamonds are not a big incentive for me to do more orders.

As far as the DD filled with Maps and TEM it is a bit frustrating. I am finished with the town but still play it regularly. I obtain Maps and TEM that I sell several times a day to avoid filling my barn with them. I am sure that is what other players are doing as well. However that DD is not as useful as it once was. You can no longer find saws, axes, barn and silo materials like you used to.

I saw a change in players attitudes with the ducks. I also felt like the introduction of the ducks now made me choose if I was going to do fishing, lobsters or ducks. Prior to the ducks I had a very good system for fish and lobsters and opening 2 extra areas did not help the space problem. So, I do not do the ducks except once every so often just to get a few feathers. Good idea, but too much to juggle in the fishing area.

On another note, I understand that they said the drop rate for axes and saws have increased, however, on my farm they did for a short time and now the drop rate is far less than they were before the fix. I am having a hard time keeping up my farm as I once did. I REFUSE to use Tom for axes or saws. Just me, I think it is a waste for him to get me those. LOL But I also refuse to let dead trees and bushes on my farm. So I do not harvest until I have the axes or saws to cut them down.

Also, the plank drop has also declined dramatically as on our trade forum the majority of players are begging for planks. We need a happy medium! My farm produces Mallets, Tape and Screws!!

Thank you again for your reply. I also would like a fix for the bugs before another update.

FYI - I am level 118, Town 27 and play way too much!! Happy Farming!!

But those were all the same prizes as last year. And last year, the personal goals were not set that high. It was 152 items to reach the last goal and get a snow globe. On a fully mastered loom you could make 197 hats in 7 days.

For this year's event, you could make 201 shirts in 7 days with a fully mastered loom. You needed 263 to reach the last goal.

They've never done that before: set the personal goals so high you couldn't reach them unless you had a stockpile or used Tom. Even when the prizes were identical.
