As of now, leagues dont matter much. Champions league is a pure endgame, more of a ego thing. Anything below is actually pointless - win bonuses are still too low in proportion to average army cost, even more so after inactive villages have been removed and there`s barely any loot below Master I.
SUGGESTION: MAKE MID-LEVEL LEAGUES MATTER TO PRE-ENDGAME PROGRESS
Progressing up the ladder (does some or all of the following):
- decreases spell cost slightly
- decreases spell time creation slightly
- increases collector production rate slightly
- gives a slightly higher loot bonus
- decreases troop cost slightly
- decreases building / upgrade time slightly
There could even be a flat resources / gem bonus for average time spent in various leagues in a season, at the end of each season. For instance a player who spent 10 days in crystal III and 4 days in crystal II would recieve a minor donation of X in resources, while a player who spent 4 days in crystal III, 4 in crystal II and 4 in crystal I would recieve a minor donation of X*1,3 in resources.
Thats phase I. After testing a data analysis, if this works, you could move to phase 2 and create clan leagues and reward clans for trophy pushes.
These ideas might not be perfect, feel free to add you own.
All Im trying to say is: MOTIVATE ME TO GO UP FROM C-III TO M-I. THE WIN BONUS ITSELF IS A JOKE NOW AND THAT MAKES TROPHIES A POINTLESS FEATURE PRE-CHAMP LEVEL. THAT REDUCES YOUR LENGHTY STAY ANYWHERE BETWEEN 1600 AND 3200 TO A DUMB NEXT-NEXT GRINDFEST.
HIGHER MOTIVATION WILL LEAD TO HIGHER COMPETITION FROM GOLD TO MASTER RESULTING IN MORE ACTIVE PLAYERBASE PRE-ENDGAME RESULTING IN MORE GEM SALES. WIN-WIN.
