I find both of them to be well balanced by considering costs, camp space, etc. I would personally love either of them.
My only concern is that the pheonix's resurrection might be too OP, half the health is fine, but the attack damage should be halved as well. Or better, the total hitpoints should be halved so that it resurrects in full power without making it any stronger or weaker.

Damn. I wish I came up with this idea. I love the concept of the hydra. Little tweaking with the stats and it would be perfect. Hopefully someone from supercell will take a look at this. It's so original and you definitely provided enough detail to start programming and designing it. The hydra needs to be in an update. It would be a HUGE game changer. It would keep it fresh. Great idea, and well done on the post.
