Because the focus of this game is on multiplayer. The single player missions are basically an extended tutorial.
True, just think it should be on the radar for possible changes. Last time Sherbet Towers was updated, those defenses were maxed out. As the troops and, well, everything else changes, so should the battle against the goblin menace.
