Thumbs Up So you wanna new DE Troop eh? Why not make it thunder based! New Troops Ideas!

We've seen it all folks. Fire and lava has definitely been one fancy symbol to show you’re the mega shat in COC. You got that TH10? Oh it’s gonna be mixed with a lava theme? The most badassery defense everyone wants? Oh why not an INFERNO tower? Newest dark barrack troop? Let make a LAVA hound and change the whole dark barrack to a lava theme.

What about walls. Want maxed wall, it FIRE... wait no it isn't! IT ELECTRIC!

Now if you take a look around, people have been thing that if there is a new TH level 11, it's bound to be electric themed. So while electricity seems like the new hype and the start of a symbol of even high power than that of lava, why not make a thunder based DE troop?

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now I got ideas for two of them:

    Thunder Phoenix:

Description - "While in experimentation phase, the wizards that were working on a Phoenix had learned the power to cast lightning spells. [This is kind of the reference wizard upgrade from 3 to 4 where they begin to cast lighting instead of fire] Discovering the power of this new element meant they could no longer work on a fire based phoenix. Thus the Thunder Phoenix is born"

How it Attacks: So I sort of thought this bird could summon sort of a lightning spell but instead of a set of bolts, it would only rain one bolt every second. And of course it's an air unit so no cannons or mortars affect it.

What makes it a DE troop: Like all DE troops, there has to be a special ability too it. So I thought, maybe it would be brought back to life after it is destroyed. But of course not in full power.

    Stats:
Preferred Target Attack Type Housing Space Training Time Attack Speed Movement Speed Dark Barrack Level Req Range
Hidden Tesla [2x Damage to Tesla] 1 Tile radius on ground or air 32 45 mins 1s 22 7 4

Level Damage per Second Hitpoints Training Cost Research Cost Lab Level Required Research Time
    1 75 1,175 465 DE N/A N/A N/A
    2 84 1,200 486 DE 65,000 DE 8 10 Days
    3 97 1,250 500 DE 75,00 DE 8 11 Days
    4 120 1,270 516 DE 80,000 DE 9 13 Days
    5 150 1,400 527 DE 85,000 DE 10 15 Days

Now some of you might wonder, how the hell does electricity deal twice as much damage as a tesla running on electricity? Well the general idea is that this electricity generated by the phoenix would overload the tesla and cause it to be malfunctioned. Now the bird won't fly towards the tesla unless it has appear already and if the phoenix is already on the battlefield and the tesla suddenly appears, it will go towards the tesla AFTER it has destroyed what ever building it was focused on before the tesla appeared.

And of course it the bird is destroyed, the resurrection will only bring back with half the hitpoints and two thirds the attack power.

I find this one kind of UP but you guys can decide comment below about it!

    Visuals:
    • Level 1 & 2: Bird is light blue on the borders with sup metallic-ish color near the middle. They will have black eyes
    • Level 3 & 4: Bird is now purple with the metallic color now dark blue near the middle. They will have purple, elixir colored eyes.
    • Level 5: Bird is black and the blue is now black near the middle. They will have black eyes.

If you don't like this suggestion then we could try:

    Electric Hydra:

Description - "A dangerous enemy, the Hydra's multiple heads is not to the played with. With its multiple head, it dares to challenge the mighty inferno towers."

How it Attacks: Now a hydra could attack in a similarly way as a minion, only it spits out a shot of thunder which will be relatively more higher powered than a minion’s spit. Unlike the Phoenix, this is a ground unit. *Note this creature will only attack the inferno tower when the inferno tower attacks it.

What makes it a DE troop: Well Hydra has more than one head! So, make the troop become like 3 troops, 4 troops, or 5 troops, depending on the level of the hydra. Therefore, faster rate of attacking, more hp, and a resistance against the mighty Inferno Tower and maybe even X-Bow! But watch out for wizard towers!

Preferred Target Attack Type Housing Space Training Time Attack Speed Movement Speed Dark Barrack Level Req Range
    Inferno Tower [1.5x the damage] Ground and Air 35 60 mins 0.32s 21 7 4

***!$Weakness is wizard towers. They can deal 4x the damage to the hydra!$!***
Level Amount of Heads Damage Per Second Damage Per Attack Hitpoints Training Cost Research Cost Lab Level Required Research Time
    1 3 225 75 5,100 450 DE N/A N/A N/A
    2 4 375 125 6,700 500 DE 65,000 DE 8 11 Days
    3 5 429 143 8,400 700 DE 70,000 DE 9 12 Days
    4 6 471 157 10,000 750 DE 75,000 DE 9 14 Days
    5 7 516 172 11,000 850 DE 90,000 DE 10 16 Days

SO... the basic concept is that with each level the hydra increases, each head does a bit more damage and an additional head is added too and the hydra is like a bag of troops combined into one. Each head doesn't deal 225 damage at level one, each head deals 75 at level 1! Its just because the overall attack speed of the hydra is .32 seconds meaning each head attacks 1 once per second but because their are three, bam! Much faster rate of attacking! It range also allows it to reach over walls due to its long head.

Now a lot of you may think, "man this is OP bro". Not what I think! Here's why [using level 1 as an example]:
    • Each head doesn't have 5,100 hitpoints! It the overall! Each head is like a troop with about 1,700 hitpoints (based on level 1). Thus, cannons, archer towers, etc. can still all focus on one head and take it down, therefore after the head is taken down, the damage per second drops to 150 per second and so forth. Thus its not completely over powered.
    • Although its favorite target is the inferno tower its multiple head although can more easily deal decent damage to a single target inferno tower, it will have trouble attacking a multi-shot inferno tower (because now, if you have a level 1 hydra, the inferno tower will be able to target all three heads. Thus, HP is lost much faster as three beams are focused on this one creature. Only hydra's level 4 and up will be able to withstand a multi-shot inferno better as the max targets for and inferno is 5). Thus it will be a sort of meat shield and will still require strategy to use this powerful troop.
    • Wizard Tower deal 4x the damage to a hydra head! Plus with splash, that’s 16 times damage on the overall creature! That’s a heavy hitter on this creature regardless of the hydra's level!
    • It a crazy clan castle troop sure! But leaves no space for other troops in the castle, plus its not completely invincible [dragons wizards and valks sure can do some massive damage to it], and due to it high DE cost and research, you'll almost never get a hydra at all unless the donator is generous or he/she gems

    Visuals:
    • Level 1: The hydra will be green with three heads. Eyes are a light green variation almost white.
    • Level 2: The hydra will be green but with four heads and red eyes
    • Level 3: The hydra will be purple but with five heads and black eyes with a white slit
    • Level 4: The hydra will be a darkish brown with six heads and black eyes with white slits
    • Level 5: The hydra will be a lightish blue with seven head and it eyes will be black. Small static runs across its body every few seconds.

I liked this one the most! I find it perfect and definitely a new concept and original! Definitely give me some suggestion about this one and if you find it OP or UP tell me how to fix it up!

Well, there you have it, a detailed description of two new troop ideas to fit in with the new thunder look! If any ideas, compliment or change comment about it please! Also feel free to take a look at my other suggestion at this link:

    Phoenix & Hydra

Phoenix: A brilliant idea, however i think its housing space is too big.
Hydra: Great idea also, disagree abt visuals but i wont share my ideas on tht front

    Phoenix

This troop, in my opinion, is too weak. It has very little health, and therefore needs to be used in conjunction with a Lava Hound to be used effectively (at max level, it takes 5 seconds for one air defense to take it out by itself, 7 including the mini Phoenix). However, because people tend to use hidden teslas near the town hall, the moment that pops up, the Phoenix will come charging into the core, and probably be unprotected by the lava hound and die extremely quickly. It's stats also resemble those of a weaker dragon - where this has 2100HP altogether at max level, the dragon has 2500. Where this troop has 150/100 DPS (300/200 vs Teslas), dragons have 200 DPS against all targets. Furthermore, the phoenix's housing space is 1.5x that of a dragon, meaning the dragon is better on almost all fronts.

If you did something to make the Phoenix a true tesla destroyer, as well as making it more tanky, this troop could definitely work, but right now it is too weak.

    Hydra

Definitely the better idea. However, it IS OP, simply because of the fact that people can use tanks to soak up the wizard tower damage while the Hydra does work at the back. It can do 1204 DPS at max level - that is quite ridiculous! The fact that it has 4 range means that it is very safe and unlikely to be under heavy fire. Even if it was under attack, it has 1571 HP before it deals slightly reduced damage.

I would reduce its health to make it a bit like a wizard (low health, high damage). As it stands, it is just too safe and can easily wreck bases single-handedly with the protection of (a) golem(s). Another potential way to balance it would be to make it available at a future TH, so that there can be a defense that can deal with the hydra effectively.
