1) Lightning, yes if one storage had the lot it would be a target like a DE storage.
2) Overall far greater net HP, means stronger defense.
3) Spreads losses for proper raiders.

Im a th9 and i run 3x level 11 storages, the remaining one is level 2 and outside the base.
I never need more then 6 mil so im good, and leaves me with one 3 storages to protect instead of 4..
And i dont scatter them just smack in the middle.
Works like a charm for me
