I use no wrist, only finger. Is that the problem?
It's all in the wrist, and you have to follow through.
Is it better if I use middle finger too?
The strength of the lighning spell amplifies the harder you tap the screen. Hit that screen for maximum strength lightning!

To maximize your Dark Elixir yield from zapping, you must aim to zap right at the center-most point (the "sweet spot") of the DE Storage or Drill as pictured below:
(Note: Zoom in all the way and then select Lightning Spell to zap at the center-most point to maximize accuracy and avoid accidental drops)
My Simple Zap Chart:
for a th10 offering 3k de you multiply the value from a max storage (most th10s have max storage) by 3/2 (as the chart only shows 2k de) and times by 4(number of lightning spells) which gives you 1578! Hope I helped

That's called the "bird technique" (origin of name unknown) - only the master zappers can execute this zapping technique properly. Practice is key when it comes to zapping.
Begin with some exercises:

My thanks to everyone that added to this. it was a lot of fun and very entertaining.
The others that got the joke were brilliantly funny in what they added to it, I don't think I saw one response that did not crack me up. And of course the people that didn't get the joke were even funnier.
Since my team is already in the playoffs and I did not care how they did today and obviously neither did they football was kind of boring. So you all helped me with some self entertainment and made it a nice piece of levity to fill the afternoon.
The pictures and the chart were a hoot. I was amazed and ROFL both when you guys came back with those gems.
