    Much needed clan war suggestions

    First off Supercell, i would like to congratulate you on clan wars, it was an amazing update, and is one of the main reasons i play the game, im sure many here would agree with me.

    Now in this thread im going to discuss, the matchups, the loot bonuses, and the way the awards are distributed… i think we will go in that order

    The matchups


    • a lot of controversy revolves around this topic many people complain about how “unfair “ the matchups are, but i think that the way the matchups are derived could not be better, so kudos on that one SC i cant think of any better way.
    • in case you didnt know, matchups are derived from the number and level of defenses in a clan, yes it is easy to manipulate, but not as easily manipulable as a different way


    The loot bonuses


    • yes yes, i know that they just had a large buff, but it still isn’t enough
    • take this for example: lets say im an upper th8, im in a clan wars and i want my clan to win so i can get a great loot bonus, to help insure our win, im going to give everyone in my clan 2 level five wizards, but some people of my fifty person clan are full, so realistically, i donate about 80 at 3500 a piece that equates to 280,000 now it is battle day, i use an arm that costs 170,00 and i attack numbers 5 and 8 my loot bonus is around 525,000 ( i say around, because not every situation is the same) but my expenditures total to 620,000 so infact, i lost elixir, so i didnt even turn a profit.
    • this is why a buff is needed, i'm not saying a lage ne, just large enough so that a profit becomes possible
    • remember im assuming that we won this clan wars, a loss after commitment like this is devastating.


    The award distribution


    • So correct me if im wrong, but you get a quarter of your loot bonus for a loss correct? i think is should be larger, possibly one half, this is not definitely needed, but would be nice.
    • this is needed sorely, so i two star a guy, who has a possible town hall snipe, i get his town hall, and 75% correct? now another guy lower player, comes along and snipes his town hall, not only is that a waste of an attack, but the other person actually gets the loot bonus as well, even worse, i cant kick him out because he is my leader (this actually happened to me) so what i suggest, to discourage th sniping in clan wars, and to more firmly establish clan wars rules, is that once a base has been successfully attacked, you must have a better score to get the loot bonus. NOTE: if you have attacked the base first, and someone gets a score better than yours, you still keep the loot bonus, as you attacked the base first. but this would discourage th sniping in clan wars and would prevent the waste of an attack.




    These are just a few of my ideas that i would like to see implemented, thanks again supercell!!

    Good attempt!

    I feel we should leave the clan wars alone. I think they are very fair loot bonuses. Plus in war time, efficiency is key! Keeps it semi-real. And yes I know it's a game not real life but I like the war status as is. Thanks for the post.

    k, but my main frustration, was that wasted attacks get awarded, i think that that at least should be added

    My only problem with this thread is the very last suggestion. For example, what if your clan is demolishing another 30-12. You dont want the weaker guys to walk away without loot, so you let them attack bases that have already been 3 starred, solely for loot. If your idea was implemented, i would not be able to give my weaker members the lot that they deserve, thus creating a resent to wars, which would destroy our clan.

    right that has a point, and in relation to that, id say that if the clan is winning then the attack would count even if it was a lesser attack, but that would be too complicated, therefore, i think that if they added a larger loot bonus, then the lower players could get sufficient loot against bases their level

    Loot boost is needed. I spend normally around 2 million elixir on war with filling clan castles, troop donations, and my attacks. I can never make that back in a war even if we win. Losing (which always happens to somebody) just makes things even more devistating.

    Also I think the match up issue is due to a lot of clans opting out of war. There are endless threads from people about bad match ups and lack of an opt in/out feature for war. I strongly believe the two issues are linked as more and more clans are simply not going to war anymore since they can't opt players out. These clans are more casual and not as serious about war. Removing them from war reduces the pool of potential clans leaving just the hard core war clans.

    It becomes a cycle as more clans war less or not at all while the strongest clans war all the time increasing your odds of coming up against them. Casual clans need not participate.

    To fix it they should do a couple things. They need to encourage more clans to war through rewards, it should not be a mega expense. They need to give players the choice to opt in/out. And they need to add win/loss ratio into the calculation on who you match up against.

    this makes sense, but there are still casual clans out there, their just not on the forums
