They can but won't.
Official reason (basically war is about helping the clan, not your counter)

Hey, welcome to the forum. Sorry but war donations counting towards your overall donations is not going to be implemented in the game. Please do a search of ruled out ideas. Hope you enjoy your time on the forum.
This would not make a big difference in the game and Supercell probably sees it as irrelevant.

Supercell made an explanation as to why they don't, and it's nothing to do with it being irrelevant. Sirix put a link to it if you wish to know why.Originally Posted by TheHolyWeav
